Wrecked friday night

Friday night my buddy's red viper got wrecked. He loaned it to one of his buddies who lost control of it. Another reason why you should never loan your car out. The driver didn't have his seatbelt on and was ejected from the car.

From my understanding, a car pulled out in front of him, he went to go slam on the brakes and the car lost control, he hit a car, when he hit the car the driver side door of the viper completely flew off the car, then the car fish taled, he flew out the car, the car kept spinning and finally hit a pole.

I actually thing that by him being ejected out of the car is what saved his life. Regardless hes in critical condition right now in jackson memorial hospital in Miami, FL.

His GF passenger managed to walk out without a scratch.

This was the Vossen Dodge viper. He was getting the wheels repainted and I had loaned him my stocks.

Wow.... he is very lucky to be alive, especially since he was ejected. In this case, looks like it saved his life.

Wow, I have to say even my dad asked to drive it. I said sorry dad it’s allot of car and it is no joke. And he has driven my vetts, mustangs and all the other cars I have had. People unknowingly don’t respect its power. I hope the guy is ok.

First im glad everyone walked away ok! Praise God!
Im sure everyone has there reason for loaning out a car but dang a VIPER? CRAZY! Secondly not wearing a seatbelt in a Viper??? that tells a lot of the lack of respect the driver has for the car? It will bite and bite hard!


I read the story and almost puked:crazy2:
I see the pictures and now im puking:crazy2: So hard to see it in that shape!

I don't know if being ejected was a good thing. The car looks like it protected the passengers fairly well. The object is to not have a good looking car after the accident....just safe passengers. The forces got absorbed by the body structure. Dang safe car if you ask me......just wish the drivers would take more care or have better luck. We keep seeing lots of accidents.

Drive cautiously.

Ill tell you what the problem was... he had his passenger side mirror reversed and blinded the car pulling out......

Sorry.....


Hope he fully recovers. These are cars that dont have the gadgets to drive themselves and sometimes bites both the experienced and inexperienced driver.

That's maybe been the biggest disappointment with my Viper ownership so far. I have loved letting my close friends and family drive all my cars, because I would have loved the oppurtunity at different points in my life.

When I got the Viper, everyone kind of assumed it would be the same way. Of course, no one has driven the car, and it makes me feel like an ass when I tell them they can't. They assume its because its a "Viper", and its so expensive...the real reason is I'm concerned for their safety, and the safety of the car:smirk:

Man...late last year the D2 Forged car was totalled, and now the Vossen Forged car totaled. This is a bad string of events

He's in critical condition and you think being ejected from the car saved his life? Very, very doubtful, and I'm being polite here.

I hope your friend repairs quickly. It *****, but it's to be expected with so much horsepower and a car that responds to your thoughts, not just your inputs.

I know my son would LOVE to drive my Snake, but he doesn't even ask. Only DarcShadow would get the chance and that's because he's been driving HIS Viper (the same car) for 8 years. I may give someone a chance at some point if I can find a 20 acre parking lot with no lights.:D

I owned an SRT Ram when I drove a Viper for the first time. My Bud had an '04 Black Mamba and he wanted to know if the clutch felt 'right', so he asked me to drive it.

He kept saying I could lay into it, which I never did. This is why.:nono:



Hope this guy has a speedy recovery.

:( Very very sorry to hear this, I'm sure we have all had our share of mishaps over the years while driving. I hope your friend recovers.

Wow! Another wreck... so sad and sorry for your friends pal. I hope he pulls through with a full recovery.

I have to agree that I don't think that being ejected from a Viper is a good thing. Perhaps not wearing his seat belt partly caused the accident as it's difficult to steer without your ass anchored to the seat and that is my main purpose for wearing a Viper seatbelt.

My Stealth is tighter and my ass doesn't have as much room to move as it does in the Viper (skinny butt) so I always do up my seat belt first in my Viper - and it's not because some dumb politician told me to.

I wish him well in his recovery.

I do have one question. How do you go to slam on the brakes & loose control. Sounds like he never hit the brakes.

Wow, first and most importantly, I hope the driver recovers. He is lucky to be alive.

I was thinking the same thing. :dunno: Unless it was around a turn at a really high speed or wet pavement?

Vipers do stop really good. So my guess is speeds were in triple digits seconds before the brakes were mashed.
