Had fun at the track this weekend. Weather was decent, mid 60's and cloudy, light wind most of the day, luckily the rain held off till Sunday.

Only Viper at the track, everybody else went to Spring Mountain NV for the weekend member/guest hosted by Michael VonQ (Great track but I had family in town).

Probably 30 vetts today, all competing in the season finals of their challenge series. Couple of nice Porsche GT3 RS there too, one of them in this video. (Watch for the exotic brake lights!)

Special thanks to Dan Cragin at DC Performance!!! After 2 years of on and off again cam sensors and crank sensors, Dan replaced the wiring harness. My Viper ran great and it was so nice to have the confidence to hammer it to the red line and not worry about backfires or a miss at 5200, going into limp mode, etc, etc. THANKS DAN!!

THX Glenn! Just saw some of the pictures Lance posted from SM, your Voodoo looks great! (What all did you do to it?) You should post some pictures on the VCA board.

Must be nice to run in a raffel viper!

Mike,
It seemed to me that you were not having to use as much of the track as some of the other cars. The Porsche, with I am guessing an instructor, was teaching his guy to get his moneys worth. Is the Viper just that planted or have u been their 1000 times?. Were U on DOT"S. You and the car made it look so smooth and simple.
Torque is such a help on the track.
Have any idea why the Vette near the end just veered to the left?. I would keep my eye on him.

Robin, maybe my 7th weekend there? Great viper track, 3 places to go real fast, just got to watch out for the concrete. (After the pedestrian bridge, sweeper left to get on the front straight, I know of two totalled ACR's there in the past year).

Porsche guy surprised me, not sure if that was an instructor or the owner trying to sell the car in the passenger seat. 1st session posted a good time, maybe different driver in this session? He's got aero like us, lift, don't brake on the turn 1 banking (that's why I backed off).

Vette guy on the banking made me nervous and ********** the miata spec racers, not sure why he pulled over in the infield?

Tires are Hoosier R6's

155-160 just past start-finish. turn 1-2 125-130, Lot's of pucker factor there! ACR on Hoosiers can go 140 or better.
.

Agree- until you drive the Roval it seems like everyone you are watching are not going very "fast", and then you get
Out there and find out that it is hairy when you are in that turn, feel the grooves moving you around at 115 (for me)
And see the tire slides and marks up on the banking......
I have only had my Z06 -C5-2004 , on the track, and maxes out at 145 in the straight, getting the GTS ready now
for some track time....

Did you have your GTS out on the Roval ? If so, how does it compare to the ACR ?

Had a GTS/ACR on the track at Vegas and Phoenix, but not at CA Speedway. The splitter and wing make a big difference, car's real stable so you can push harder, go faster and feel comfortable Catwood from San Diego has a real fast GTS with a wing and splitter. He has a thread on the board from a month or so ago at Willowsprings running real fast. Check his car out, the aero is great. Mike

Congrats to garyw1 on his new Viper. Would you tell us which one you bought and how much you paid? Thanks.

redranrt10: "Passing Porsches and Corvettes" is more apt. Thanks for the great video.

Sounds like persistance paid off, glad you finally found your problem. Too bad they didnt try that after my first PM a year and a half ago. Oh well, at least it is fixed. BTW, you looked good out there. Be safe, you have a beautiful car.

Very nice. Ate a vette at 5.25. Then a porshe at 6.15 then a lotus at 7.15 and then 10 cars from the 9-10 monute mark. Talk about track dominance!
