My 2006 coupe set up includes headers, high flow cats and exhaust ... Running stock filters and throttle body. Ads says these 2 modes will complement the add ons I have. ( air in air out) 13-15hp each? thinking of the green dry filters and the larger throttle body. (herd oil soaked filters are bad like k&n ... Waste??? Or will this really open her up and give seat of pants power? I've herd both? Would I need to retune after or will computer compensate??? Great mods or a total wasted of time and money... Thanks for the advice !!!
Thanks

Throttle body and SCT tune would be the next step in do-it-yourself mods. Air filters, why not/whatever. They look cool, but if anyone can say that they are roasting more tires or Corvettes because of a stupid air filter.............really?......... I have the S&B filters from Roe Racing, but not because I think they make 6000 more horsepower or 78% more horsepower or whatever the claim is, I have them cuz they are cheaper in the long run...........and they look cool. -the Green filters are supposed to be killer. -who knows, maybe you'll bark the tires in 5th gear with those............

Stay with what you have. The body and filter is a waste of money for a few if any HP and no torque increase. The factory paper filter is fine without the risk of oil getting inside of body. Consider a gear swap if seat of the pants is what you want.

Throttle bodies and air filters absolutely work. I gained 29whp and 14wtq !!!!!!

No opinions here. Find your MythBusters on post #2 of this thread: http://forums.viperclub.org/threads/652307-643whp-606wtq-Greg-Good-Heads-Cam-with-A-amp-C-Tune
He is correct they both work. Smaller gains for each but they are cheap and an extra 29whp is not bad for simple DIY mods.
I would get your car on the dyno first then add the air filters and TB and runn it again. You will have hard numbers to prove they work.
I have an 06 with 2008 exhaust (no cross overs) and K&N filters my car ran 454whp not bad. I added bbk throttle body, I can feel the added power, but have not had it on the Dino since added. I was told from a good source the bbk is straight 12-15 direct bolt on horse power.
Since he has owned many vipers and done almost every mod I believe he is correct.

Keep in mind on an otherwise stock Viper your results may vary, but I'm definitely happy with my BBK. Can't say exactly what it gained me as my work was done all at once, but I'm sure with all the other mods I have, it certainly didn't hurt.

Stay away from Fastman. I shipped him my core unit, he sent me back a different unit and basically gave me the bird when I tried to exchange or return it.

My car is stock, and the biggest thing I noticed when I added the K&N intake was that the low RPM loping idle disappeared. It runs a lot smoother now with a lot less bucking at low RPM in 2nd gear. Still can't wait to get some rear gears though so that 2nd gear is a little more useful.
