Well why don't you tell us where you are located.. and then what radius of miles you are willing to travel.... folks keep throwing vehicles out there and your response always seems to be... "too far".
Where in the world are you?!
I don't want to be a party-pooper.. but I thought the club was marginally worthwhile. I bought my Viper used.. and sent in my $100 immediately.. took three months to get the registration completed... I never have received all the magazines that I was supposed to.. when I moved to Ohio.. it took...
I do not believe so... when I ordered my wheels from Purner, he sold me 11 inch fronts..... actually, I don't think I can go below 305's.. or maybe 295's....
I have 315's on the front of my daily driver RT/10. They do follow every rut in the road, but it's not really any more significant than the 275's on the front.
I have no rubbing.... no issues at all.
Hmmmm...
No power windows to break and have to fix
No airbag to have to mess with.. much less two of them
The dash is way cooler... looks more like a race car interior
The steering wheel is a real racing steering wheel.. not a pick up truck steering wheel
Oh yeah... and I can get in my door...
Well... I'm no Ab....(I wouldn't touch that awesome Lamborghini write up) but I can rebuild an engine...my issue is the gasket set cost!!!! If I could obtain a reasonably priced gasket set, I could easily change out the head gaskets... heck I'd probably have done some headwork if the gaskets...
Did you complete this install? I have the interior out of my 1996... and want to install a new stereo. I have not even looked at stereo equipment for 15 years... and quite frankly I went to a stereo shop and they scared me with a price of $3100!!!!!
I think I want to replace the amps... and...
It doesn't require any real modification to the car.... it's a bolt on proposition. So do it.. as long as you keep your original hood it can be changed back quickly and easily.
I'd do it... if I found a great deal on a clean, unrepaired, undamaged Gen 2 hood... I'd do it to my 1996 RT.
So my question is... if I my engine was pulled out and sent off to Arrow... for the head gasket problem... were metal gaskets installed or the old fiber gaskets?
This work was done in 2003..... about 13,000 miles ago. The reason I ask is from time to time... especially on a hot day... when I...
I live in McKinney Texas.... feel free to PM the details and I can take a look for you. I'll be out of town this week.... but I'll be back on Friday.
Lance
Ed,
Sounds like you are indicating that Gen 2 doors on a Gen 1 can be a "bolt on" proposition. I have opined this for the years I have owned my Gen 1... but everyone says no way.
The only.. .and I do mean ONLY... thing I do not like about my 1996 RT is the lack of roll up windows.
If I could...
I just realized I was not very clear... the top does leak in about four places..... but it's mostly around the windows.
The 3 piece top is great , looks great, is easy to take off an install.... I just don't think I have the weatherstripping right....
Jeff is great to work with too!
Lance
Tom,
The plug you reference.. is that on the OEM canvass window?? Or the door itself? Also, have you added or replaced any weatherstripping where the door seals against the door opening?
I am pulling out the carpet to completely dry the interior... I'd like to find these leaks so I don't...
Thank you for the suggestions. Since moving to Texas... I've started driving my RT as my daily driver... I have contemplated selling my 1996 and buying a Gen 2... but I really like my Gen 1... I've got to figure this out so I don't have to sell it!
So how can I make my 1996 RT more water resistant? I am driving it every day now... and I have the three-piece trunktop. It leaks like crazy!!!
I know.. if you want to be comfortable ... buy a corvette.. but I want to keep my Viper.... but I can't keep spending a day drying it out after an...
I moved from Ohio last summer.... yes they require front plates, no I did not ever install my front plate... I never did get a ticket for no front plate.
The driving season is so short though... that with work travel I didn't put more than 2,000 miles on the Viper in the two years I lived in...
