    08 Viper w/ a K&N

If the pleats are shorter, you're probably more restricted... The depth gives surface area.

What is normal range for the voltmeter?

Normal charge voltages are 13.5 to 14.75 depending on ambient / battery temperature. 13.5 would be normal for a hot battery or warm to hot ambient temps. Make sure you are measuring the voltage at the battery though... the voltage will be highest right at the alternator. Less than 12.5...

    Rough starts

When you key on... you hear the fuel pump right? That's the prime up of the fuel pressure. If the check valve is getting old, it's possbile you aren't achieving proper start up pressure. One way to test is to key on, wait the 4 secs for the pump to stop, key off, key back on for another 4...

    new flash for 08 viper

P2610 code can be caused by disconnecting the battery. If you just disconnect, and then reconnect once and drive it, the fault will not mature. But if you are playing around with the cables, two disconnects matures the fault. This is a bit of a departure from the JTEC boxes of the GEN III...

Mod to keep fog lights on when brights are on?

The 2003 and newer cars do not have relays for lighting... it is taken care of inside the BCM module.

    New owner engine Qustion

Also make sure you have fresh gas... like from this year... gas ages quickly, and looses the "light ends" which help with idle stability. Also check your plugs, sooty plugs from running to gently will hurt idle stability as well. Some roughness is to be expected though... nature of the beast.

    2008 Drive Train Vibration

Engine mounts and trans mount are much stiffer with the 08's versus the 03-06's... improves many things, but does work against harshness a bit. IMHO.

    Mustang Dyno Results for 2008 Vipers . . .

4th gear is used on a viper because it is the 1:1 ratio in the gearbox, and will have lower losses than say 3rd or 5th.

    Is this the aero package?

ACR and Aero package are not the same... different and lower rear wing, different splitter, no "canard" wings... looks like no adjustment to the Aero package wing either.

Will the 2009 Viper get a HP boost to Head off the ZR-1?

Maybe they'll put the headers in the trunk just like the old Hurst Olds.... manifold from the factory... but free headers in the trunk... ha. I bet the fruits and nuts at EPA / CARB closed that old loophole long ago.

    dodge dyno's every viper

The rolls at Connor Ave keeps the revs below about 4k... leaving the breakin up to the customer... any higher would be a bad idea until the rings seat. If you are running the piss out of your engine prior to break in you will not achieve maximum potential as the rings won't seal as well as...

A bit of a dumb move - gas cap

The quickest way? Disconnect the Black Connector at the engine controller... wait about 10 seconds and plug it back in. Do that with the key off of course... when you power back up the code will be flushed. No autozone, etc... The Black connector contains the power feeds for the PCM...

Gene, here is your pictorial update of your supercharged SRT progress.

Viper NOT in top ten for HP under $100K ???

Only 3 of Vehix's 10 are even over 500hp let alone 600hp. Nothing to worry about. Heck they list 380hp... you can get that much out of a Hyundia these days.

08 Vipers sales seem to be slow....

If the 2008's are selling so slow... someone tell me where I can buy a blue convertible at or under MSRP??? I've got a guy in the market... and could use a lead on one. I checked woodhouse's online page... no 2008's listed at all.

    Reading between the lines....

Re: Another Viper Is Probably Done In 09 Tid Bit! ALL engines have one year certifications... ALL engines are re-certified in some manner each year, because the laws and regs change. There is no such thing as a "permanent" certificate. Some years are bigger deals to certify than others...

More powerful Viper? No, NOT the 2008!

BTW an engine like you describe would have to rotate at 1.85rpm or so to only make 3.5hp... Horsepower and Torque are intertwined.... HP (US)=Torque(lb-ft)*RPM/5252 Your point in the "area under the curve" is quite correct though. Think two-strokes, lots of "power" up high, but with low...

    RB1 Navigation Radio

Just make sure the auction includes the navi disc as well... and the GPS patch antenna. (Both would be available from a dealer if you just get a head unit... but the radio is less likely stolen if it has all of the accessories with it)

With the 2008 ZB: I've seen 25+ mpg freeway ~70mph for legs of up to 275 miles I've also seen 4mpg on the track... Overall average for track / city / highway has been over 16 mpg
