Re: Dodge Viper Gen 2 Headlight dissection. Uses: Headlight cleaning, bezel painting
And the final product aligned today and washed. Overall I might need to raise the headlight be a little bit but the light output is amazing. I bought 5k and 6k bulbs but ended up staying with 5k. In the...
I bought that car. I did not recognize the brake lines when I removed them. It was the brake lines that caused the accident. The owner is an up front person and described the accident to me.
The line split at the seam, it without a doubt caused the wreck. You could see the line was stressed the way it attached. I am looking for a better way to attach the brake line to the big brake upgrade. This is tricky because of how the oem line attaches to the caliper. Really I need to see...
They are already made, its just a matter of finding out who makes them. The stainless lines already have preformed bends in them to allow the side to side movement and a good angle of attachment at the caliper.
Ok you are thinking like what I am trying to say.
The up and down motion in the front is not the problem, it is the side to side. These brake lines I am referring to make a 180 degree bend inside the knuckle to allow easy swivel for the front wheels and less stress on the line to caliper...
The legality has no bearing on my question but an interesting note. There are a lot of other things we do to our cars that are not dot legal either.
On a side note the ones that were sold by Big Brake Dave are just straight lines with no bend. When I go home I will see if I can find a...
The rears don't concern me as bad as the fronts. I have mine set up like yours. There is a lot of stress placed on the point where the stainless line attaches to the metal sheath (piece that screws onto the caliper). I have seen a set that attach normally and basically the oem lines make a...
Please post a photo of the stainless line routed in oem fashion. I am not a fan of the zip ties in the front for the BBK. My lines are straight and the angle the line attaches to the caliper is hard on the lines, makes me nervous. This is what happened to that salvage one I bought, it split...
There are 2 versions of stainless steel brake lines for the Gen 2. The ones I have are not shaped and mounted like the oem ones. What is the company that makes the set that are shaped like the oem ones and mount in similar fashion? I have seen them before so they are produced. I am only...
As requested by Tim, figured I would share. Please note this bezel will not remain in my car. I have not reinstalled my headlights yet and I had a spare bezel so I painted it factory color to entertain Tim's idea. I personally don't think it will look good. Tomorrow once it is dry I will...
Re: Dodge Viper Gen 2 Headlight dissection. Uses: Headlight cleaning, bezel painting
I got a smoking deal but this is the link to the projectors. You will also need a D2S bulb. They did a Viper retrofit a long time ago and the headlights were badly damaged in shipping. The retrofit was fine...
Re: Dodge Viper Gen 2 Headlight dissection. Uses: Headlight cleaning, bezel painting
So I was able to see how good these projectors are tonight and they are outstanding. Picture one is OEM projector with an HID bulb. You will notice there really is no solid cutoff, there is a faded cutoff...
Yes switchback LED's. I really like them. Just having the new projectors on in the garage there is an awesome cutoff for them while the light just scatters everywhere on the old ones. Once I get everything installed I will find a wall and get my lights lined up flat and nice.
