    VOI Registration $?

You are not exactly comparing apples to oranges. There are a lot of big time Mopar events that rent tracks and other things that don't cost nearly this much and I don't think it is out of line to ask what things cost. My wife and I would like to go but I just like to get value for what I...

    VOI Registration $?

I'm with you. It would be nice to see a breakdown of what things cost and how many meals are included. $1600 for registration plus hotels is a BUNCH of money! This is way more than the Mopar Nationals for example but they have things a la carte. It's close and I'd like to go but $2000 plus...

Michelin Pilot Super Sport for Gen 3 & 4 Vipers

When you say the "new" tire, which one do you mean? PS2, Supersport, or the new but not available in all sizes PS3. Are gen 3 sizes released now for PS3?

Anyone Annoyed The Viper Is Coming Back?

The only thing that annoys me is that Chrysler has missed several great opportunities to unveil the new car and get a lot of free publicity. But, we'll all see what it is like when it comes out and maybe it will make sense then. I just hope it is a better car at a reasonable price - and that...

    Nitto invo in Wet Weather

I would agree with the other posters. With over 5000 miles on mine, I have had no problems. Of course, I am VERY careful in the rain. They have been very good. They may not be the best you can buy but they are excellent value for the money.

Looking for advice on diff. gears

I'm sure you are right about 1/4 mile times but on the street the 3.55's give me better roll-on than the 3.07's did. You can drive in a higher gear and still accelerate as fast or faster than you could with stock gears. The biggest change is on the interstate. I can run 80 in 6th at a bit...

That is unbelievable. I'm going to turn in my tools.

pouring seafoam. where is pcv line?

Putting Seafoam or anything else through the PCV doesn't seem like a good idea as it is not likely to be evenly distributed among cylinders and may even cause hydrolock if you get too much in one cylinder which will cause even more problems. If your tapping is louder than your exhaust, you have...

    Rollbars.

Mine came black from Autoform but I could have had it another color. The NARRA folks told me that stock Vipers were OK for their track days. You cannot participate with the top down unless you have arm restraints. You might double check with them as I know they have a VIR event scheduled...

looking for cruise control where? who? used?

Gee, and I just thought using the cruise control required common sense. I like to set mine at about 80 in stop and go traffic just to be sure my pacemaker is working properly!

    Rollbars.

I just put one in my '03. I can tell you once you get it in, you don't have any thoughts of taking it out. If you could have steel hoops made in place of the existing aluminum hoops, you would be pretty safe. Not long ago there was a proposal by a member to make replacement hoops but I think...

looking for cruise control where? who? used?

I've driven several thousand miles with mine. No different than the cruise in any car except you put this one in yourself. Mine is a Snake Oyl unit and works fine and certainly no worries about slick spots. I would think slick spots would be slick regardless of whether the cruise was on or...

    Looking for MGW shifter.

Stock knob fits MGW. Got mine from Woodhouse. Much better than stock. Once you see the 2 side by side you will understand why it works better.

    a little birdie says......

But there is a base Viper and an ACR and an ACR-X ... And all this time I thought the Viper was about engineering the best car - a V10 doesn't make it the best car! It might be different but I digress. There are folks here that know more about the history of Viper than I do but the V10 was...

    a little birdie says......

So to follow your logic to its logical conclusion Dodge or SRT now should only make one car?! That way it would be very exclusive and unobtainable except for one person. We'll just have to wait and see in April and how the new car tests out. Right now I'm happy with mine as I'm sure all of...

    a little birdie says......

Perhaps you really meant no offense but that's a pretty silly thing to say but you're obviously a long time owner. I'm sure if you look at GM's bottom line, they are happy for the choices and if they had to depend on just a supercharged car they wouldn't sell many. The V10 in Gen 1, 2, 3, and...

Refinish 03 Wheels... Anyone done this???

Don't think anyone will repair wheels with the tires on the rim. Getting to the area that is usually damaged wouldn't be possible. Remounting tires is going to be part of the price if you take them all to a repair shop yourself. Even if you have to have them dismounted first, use a first...

    a little birdie says......

And you just said you traded one year ACR for another a year newer? So we are clearly not in the same league spending wise. What I am saying is that many of us can't afford to buy a new viper and that is why we buy used. And there are quite a few new Vipers for sale at thousands less than the...

    a little birdie says......

Reading comprehension test. The top has got to go down. And yes, if $40K is nearly as good as $120K I's buy used, I'll have a lot of company with older Vper owners and a lot more money in the bank. If I had just spent $90K for a 2010 would I be 50K better off than my old car? Of course you...

    a little birdie says......

The Allpar site is speculating the new Viper will be about $137,000. If true, that's way too much for me - even if I buy used in several years. I think I'll just keep my '03. Got to have a drop top anyway.

How difficult is it to remove and replace the differential?

You need a pry bar to get the axle off the retaining clip. Give it a quick snap with the bar and ithe axles should slide outward from the stub. You will need to wiggle the rear end back and forth to get both axles clear. You also may need to disconnect part of the rear suspension to get it to...

Help Me Choose 02 GTS OR 03+ Viper

If you want to put the top down Gen 3 or 4 is the only way to go. If you want a coupe, you can buy by style but ABS brakes really help out and I'd recommend the car you buy has them. You need a lot of stopping power to go with all the GO power.

How difficult is it to remove and replace the differential?

Did you break the new gear set in? When I put a new rear end from Unitrax (through JonB) they were specific about breaking the gear in carefully. I would get either Woodhouse or Unitrax to check it and redo it. Apparently the late model rear ends are difficult to get apart. You can easily do...

Jacking up a Viper on a 4 post lift????

This is why I prefer a 2 post lift. Harder to store cars but oh so much better to work with. Just be careful!
