...reviving an old thread; there have been a lot of laps run in the last two years. Chip in with your experiences on-track with the Cups. ACR info especially!
Thanks,

Agree on watchability: I'd like to see the prototypes ditched, or at least reduced to one class, and have the domestic series (United SportsCar) feature the GT cars.
Perhaps GT-pro and GT-am, with a spec P-car class. So much more fun to see recognizable cars, even if they are whacked-out...
Posted in another thread, but more applicable here:
I wonder to what extent these race results will play a role in future rule-making regarding the Viper, both in ALMS/UnitedSportsCar and at LeMans.

I wonder to what extent these race results will play a role in future rule-making regarding the Viper, both in ALMS/UnitedSportsCar and at LeMans.
Common sense would seem to dictate that the GTS-R's are slightly over-restricted and unable to keep truly competitive pace. But a bit of cynicism...
I'm on the road with no SpeedTV... anyone watching via streaming?
I see http://www.lemans-tv.com/ but not sure how well this will work...
Thanks in advance for any help,

Those of you also curious why Ryan Dalziel is absent from the pics: he was back stateside (Mid-Ohio) at the Rolex series. On the podium, too!
And if any of you are growing impatient waiting for this weekend... pick up a little novel called The Art of Racing in the Rain. Especially if you...
Here are the times from the second (better weather) session on test day. Clearly, plenty for the engineers to work on:

But then your friends don't get to slobber all over a Stryker Red GTS!!! So selfish.
On the other hand, go find that black SRT and drive Seca with me at the end of the month...

Call me greedy, but I'm not satisfied with a goal of "both cars finishing". At Seca, they said they'd be happy with 5th, because getting the cars to LeMans intact was most important. Managing expectations is one thing, but I'd like to hear a little more chest-thumping.
These are some really...
Great to see these pics, thanks for sharing!
Viper's return to GT has made me a new fan of the sportscar series; I honestly paid only mild attention before. And now, with the spectacle of LeMans ahead... it's kinda like I have a new Super Bowl-level event to enjoy.
And I have a couple of...
Re: Glad they are going to limit the amount Corvettes & Mustangs at Cars & Coffee Irv
Perhaps a better solution for the Irvine C&C would've been to name the "overattending" models and simply set a quota. As in, "we have 10 slots for Corvette owners that care enough to get here early"...
Keep 'em rare, but build enough so that some of us might still be able to cherry-pick a low miles garage queen after a few years.
Perhaps the best market/production comparison would be Nissan GT-R's, at about 1500/year IIRC...

What a fantastic day. SRT hosting was great, and they had the hospitality trailer unit perfectly positioned at the T2 hairpin. With its observation deck we had a perfect view of the action.

Has anyone experienced sagging in the boxed regions of the pic below?
On my '09 ACR, that upper border of plastic is dipping down and sagging a bit. Reaching around that upper edge, I can't feel any kind of filler or support material... shouldn't there be something in there to provide...
