Drive Laguna Seca June 28, 29, 30 with 105 Decible sound limit!

I saw "The Line" this morning too! I'm in, Dan. And I also prefer tracking Friday/Saturday. Should be a great weekend, but it will fill up IMMEDIATELY... Seca HPDE days @ 105 dB are so rare. Hope to see a bunch of snakes there! Rich

Monday we find out who is faster at Laguna Seca, ZR1 or Gen V

Watch Winkler's ACR lap and you'll see why: he is driving at frickin' 10/10ths with his hair on fire. I think Pobst is (understandably) less willing to stuff someone else's car into a tire wall or take it for a cruise in the kitty litter. It's all about confidence, as Pobst himself mentions...

Monday we find out who is faster at Laguna Seca, ZR1 or Gen V

Ahhh, not what I'd hoped to read this morning. But a few first thoughts: 1. Fluff: the author's fairly brutal on both interiors, so I don't see this as some sort of MT biased smear article. 2. Silver Lining: SRT is now required to build an ACR. 3. Semi-silver Lining: posting a time...

    Nerd alert- 2013 Maisto Vipers

...found a black one at my "work" CostCo in South San Francisco. Brought it back to the office and searched our Christmas giving tree for a kid that wants a toy car, and matched 'em up. Pay it forward, Viper nation!

Monday we find out who is faster at Laguna Seca, ZR1 or Gen V

Like I said above, don't discount the possibility that the dynamic improvements in the Gen V now provide the confidence needed for Pobst to drive this Viper harder... Maybe some benefit from gearing (vs 2010 ACR) as well.

Monday we find out who is faster at Laguna Seca, ZR1 or Gen V

Here's some context for our weekend evaluation of that 1:33 run in the 2010 ACR: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjU0MyL10cg Big props to SRT engineer Chris Winkler for his work behind the wheel. I'd argue (mildly) that his record was set due in no small part to his immense cojones, and...

Viper friends: can I get a "Like" from ya?

Hey, friends... I would sure appreciate you logging onto your Facebook page to "Like" a video I've submitted to Dashware in a promotional contest. This is the "Seca with Telemetry" vid I've posted on here previously, basically a demonstration of what you can do with a smartphone, a GoPro, an...

Seriously, I can't wait to see one in person. And I'm pretty sure I'll tell the owner, "...well done, bud"

Rockin ACR-X Components on my Final Edition ACR

Absolutely subscribed! Very interested in the details, and numbers. You're in good hands with Toddy.

    Stryker Red

Bill is right: $14,600; that was quoted by SRT (with Ralph in the room) at our NorCal event. Honestly, it seems like a pretty fair price... given what you'd have to spend to get that color done at a quality paint shop. Rich

    Stryker Red

Maybe that's not such a crazy idea, at least for the full hood and front bumper/quarter panels? Alternatively, buy a normal color and have somebody do a metallic "Stryker Red-ish" wrap for you. Serious customizing available if you'd start with, say, a black car...

looking for datalogger to logg oil pressure on track.

Check out MoTeC; they have flexible acquisition devices and I have seen oil pressure logs at 5 Hz on a MoTec log. I think they were captured from the JTEC. Rich

Interior- Which did you choose and why?

It is a sign of the changing times that future searches for the word "Laguna" will now identify threads talking about the interior leather appointments of a Viper... instead of track visits to Monterey. It's a good thing, it's a bad thing, I dunno. For me, I'd like to have both an ACR and a...

A Viper finally for the tall.....???

I have no idea how you can fit in a stock Gen IV. Do you have some sort of triple-jointed knees, or magically articulated spine? Steering wheel delete option? Wow.

A Viper finally for the tall.....???

You can order a Gen V with confidence, unless you have stilts for legs. I sat in the new GTS, and it's much better than the stock Gen IV... I am 6'4, 250 lb, with a 36" inseam. Couldn't fit in my Gen IV without the 2" seat lowering kit. In the Gen V GTS, I have adequate room, and I could...

    Used market flood

Great point, Jon. I should modify that to include the <3000 mile "princess" Gen IV ACRs that can be purchased for $10k or $20k less. There are a couple of gorgeous examples (SSGs and Graphites) available... I'm frankly kinda surprised that they haven't sold! Rich

    Best Video Review Yet...IMO

I took pains to try not to monopolize Erich during our NorCal holiday party, but with limited success... with a shared primary interest in tracking the car, it was great to talk at length about the fine details of Viper dynamics and driving with an ultimate authority on the subject. And truly a...

    Used market flood

Holy Multiple Off Topic Thread, Batman! Anyway, a quick scan of the major online car sales sites shows a fair number of Vipers... seems to be similar to when I used to visit these sites regularly to shop for "my" Viper. A few thoughts: --I see two types of Viper-loving (i.e. non-conquest)...

Some Pics From Half Moon Bay

Best. Holiday. Party. Ever. SRT went out of their way to join us, literally, and there's nothing like personal access to the engineers and designers behind the car. Personally, I was impressed with the way the Gen V fit my 6'4 x 250 lb dimensions. I sure wish I had the coin to pick up a...

    Sonoma lap in Gen V

They bypassed the carousel and did a "shortcut" early T11... Looks like there was a little concern from SRT over the ability of the journalists to stay off the walls :-) Can't say that I blame them...

Anyone seen this before? How do I get rid of it?

Worth a try... but if they've started to etch it won't help. Been there, unfortunately. The white vinegar method varies a bit: some use 50:50 water:vinegar, some use undiluted. Warm solution on a room-temp paint surface is best. Fresh spots may be treatable by spraying on and wiping off...
