    size of stock catalytic converters?

I see that you are using clamps to connect the cats to the (stock?) headers. From what I have read so far, this is rather unusual as most people weld the cats to the header pipe. Any issues doing it this way (stability, leakage...)? How much of the header pipe is reaching into the cat? I am...

I have recently purchased the pulley and bracket from Ipsco but have not yet installed it (car is in hibernation mode but I plan to install it before next spring). the Ipsco parts seem to be of very high quality... I am also thinking to replace the belt at the same time. luckily, have not had...

    Vipers@Mecum

Thought I would share recent Viper sales at Mecum auction in Kansas City. I was surprised to see a 2002 RT/10 being sold for 31k and a 1996 RT/10 (white w/ blue stripes) for 34,5k. Ok, the latter one has very few miles... Holger

    Question regarding 98 MY RT/10

It also says: "'98 numbers include 12 pilot and pre-production units (6 roadsters and 6 coupes) which will not be sold." So probably, those used for the brochure were some of those...?! But I'd still like to know, when in general production lines were switched to new MYs? Was is always...

    Question regarding 98 MY RT/10

Hi, I think it's time for a question from my side again :omg: I have a '98 RT/10 built in November of that year. Thus it comes with the Gen 2 hood. Now I have noticed that in the `98 Dodge Viper sales brochure the roadsters shown all still have the Gen 1 hood. In real life (including...

According to Wikipedia it varies between different applications, even between different years of Vipers: lowest torque capacity 330 lb-ft ('92 Viper), 450 lb-ft ('96-'02) and 550 lb-ft ('93-'95 and some Gen III). Holger

    No Heat!!

Front vents (dash) and leg cooler will never blow hot air as the air bypasses the heater core. Defrost and floor vents should however blow heated air, depending on the position of the mode door, see following diagram: Holger

    Heating Question

True. But usually, it's indicated by an additional light that A/C is on and you can typically switch it off, if you want but still direct air flow to the windshield. Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining at all. Actually it is fun to discover those small Viper "secrets" every once in a while...

    Heating Question

BTW: One other thing I learned is, that the "Defrost" position always switches on the A/C. I noticed that because of the fan going on high speed and making more noise. Later I found a respective comment "hidden" in one of the student workbooks. Holger

Question regarding stock exhaust v-band clamp

Actually, the service manual says this :omg: I don't plan to connect a new pipe to the header flange, I just want to remove this part from the car to better cut off the old and weld in the new cats. So I was wondering whether or not I really have to buy a new v-band clamp when I put the...

Question regarding stock exhaust v-band clamp

Hi, I am planning to install a Corsa cat back system together with hiflow cats on my '98 RT/10. In order to weld in the hiflow cats, I need to disconnet the exhaust from my (stock) headers. If I am not mistaken, this part connects via a v-band clamp to the headers and this v-band clamp can...

    Found the frame VIN

Now, I could also locate and find the VIN stamped in on the engine block as also described by the International Viper Registry. It wasn't easy but with a small pocket lamp it was possible to manoeuver the light to that area on the rear side of the enginge block (standing next to the car on the...
