Brake pad choices? Stock + BBS wheels = Cleaning nightmare

The best low dust pad I have used on a everyday street car is the Akebono. I would see what they offer for the Viper. They are a true ceramic pad. No noise, very little dust. They stop great on my everyday car, but never tried them on the Viper. Might be worth a try, especially since they...

May be leaving the Viper Family, for a while...

To me, those performance differences are not that significant. And you put a '94 next to a '00 at a car show and no one would know the difference. Maybe a small handful of NSX lovers. But let's look at the stats: Power to weight = '94 3020 LBS/270HP = 11.18 HP per pound. Power to...

May be leaving the Viper Family, for a while...

100,000 miles and there asking mid 20's. More than likely there getting low 20's or even high teens. And that's exactly my point. In 2-3 years, your NSX is going to be a high-miles NSX and a few years older. And IMHO it will only be worth mid 20's. That's a big hit to take. Your Viper on...

May be leaving the Viper Family, for a while...

The NSX is a great car, but like others have said it seems you are getting the low end of the totem pole (financially speaking). It appears to me he is getting top dollar for his NSX, and you are getting average to low for you Viper. I would think there would be a lot more than $2,000...

    A/C problem (In Ohio)

I must say, Dodge did a HORRIFIC job with not only the performance of the A/C, but the reliability as well. Maybe they did a better job with the Gen III. I had my entire system replaced under warranty late last year, and just pulled it out from storage about a month ago. Low and behold, no...

    Dealer mark up in 1993

Is this sarcasm? +199K may be a stretch, but I distinctly remember a local dealer asking 50-75K over sticker back then... And someone supposedly paid it.

NOW THAT I'M OUT OF WARRANTY,BEST OIL/FILTER TO USE

Re: NOW THAT I\'M OUT OF WARRANTY,BEST OIL/FILTER TO USE Both times I tried 'better than OEM' tranny fluids, I had problems. Big problems (trannies ended up in the dumpster). Neither of these cars was the Viper, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. I now always use exactly what the factory...

    Can You Feel The Horsepower?

A lot depends on how familar you are with the car. I've driven my Viper about 20K now, and I can feel minor changes. For example, I can tell the increase in performance when using stock cats, to high-flow, to no cats.

Let me get this right.... You lost by 2/10ths to a driver that the Corvette guys WORSHIP and claim is the absolute BEST EVER at ringing 10/10th out of the latest Vette, in an open top GEN II Viper, than is nearly 10 years old, looks far better, more exciting to drive, etc... Wow! You have to...

    Viper & Prowler?

Oh man, I love the Panoz Roadster. How's it handle compared to the Viper? I was considering purchasing one several years back, as the prices were extremely reasonable for a new custom built car, and especially good used. Then all of the sudden the prices seemed to increase. The price for a...

Viper crash at Nurburgring, Arizona plates.

1.) I assume track insurance is separate from your regular auto insurance, correct? If so, let's say you are in an accident and total the Viper. Do they notify your regular insurance? Basically, will your rates increase on your regular auto insurance? 2.) What's the cost, and are there any...

Looking to get a Paxton, but will my car hold up?

I would consult Dan Craigan. I believe he has a few customers that put a lot of miles on a Paxton, if memory serves. He also does head/cam packages. Unfortunately, us back yard mechanics are probable not going to give you a qualified answer. BTW - I'm guessing you have a long commute to...
