Thanks all. Weird day yesterday. Got the pick slip on the job, someone got my pick slip on the car. I really, really, hated seeing it drive away. When I walked into the house the wife was in tears. The person lives local about 30 miles away. I may see it from time to time...<sniff>. I...
I bought this car late July 2003. My wife was 8 1/2 months pregnant. We went to dinner that night to celebrate the new ride. When I told her the story she's like...you're kidding right...nope....she's too lady like to say what she thought at that point.....plus the 5 yr old daughter was in...
some say steel grey other say Millinium gray. It pops more than graphite when parked side by side if that makes sense.
replied to PM and perhaps to email. Not sure which email was yours got lots.
Type of conductor is important as resistance over distance can be changed and that may (big may) have an effect. These are small signal circuits, not like in a cell phone but small never the less.
I think there is potential to hurt the O2 sensor wires due to being close to the head. It's real easy to bind up the wires putting them in or pulling them out. That could induce a failure to occur over time or right away depending on the level of damage.
I have belanger headers also on a 2000.
I think there are other issues to consider.
I suspect the wiring on the O2 is more fragile than expected. The potential to damage one of the wires on the passenger side install or removal in the single tube is high due to closeness to the block. I think, but not confirmed that the damaged...
AT the OEM harness connector point measure the resistance between the two white wires on the O2 side. If either is open change that O2. report back values of each as I'm curious.
Cat
drill a hole in the bottom, tap it, then put in a pipe plug. It's real easy. Do a search for instructions and location on the site.
I formed and used a copper tube for refill which I saved. It allowed for filling from the side of the car.
If you put the car on 4 jackstands it will be...
No it's not! ;)
I'm measured resistance between the white wires. One sensor showed opened while the other and an old spare showed 1-2 ohms. I was trying to figure out what circuit the two white wires were.
On an O2 sensor are the two white wires the heater circuit?
There is a gray and a black but I don't care about those at the moment.
I think the two white wires should show some resistance (1-2 ohms) while everything else shows open.
Thanks,
Carl
