    Running the "BIG " end

What Paul says. Hey Paul, how did you become a Motor City Member? With OE size tires, normal rake (rear end higher than front) and top up, my 04 SRT is very stable at speed. I too have run the Silver State Classic and the car was very stable and comfortable cruising at 165 mph+ in 6th gear at...

    2006 VCA-9 edition coupe

As above. Some of these cars that were "picked up" at VOI 9 in Las Vegas also had some other options, like headers, cam, wing, etc. I own a VOI 9 White with blue stripes though my wife claims it and it's one of the best looking Vipers made IMHO. Dan

    PROJECT: "HARDCORE ACR-700R" Has Begun

Fast Guy, I lost the trans in my 09 ACR too. Fortunately, mine didn't blow like yours did. It never shifted perfectly from the factory and got worse with use, then became really noisy one day. I had to have it rebuilt. After the rebuild, it still wasn't right. DC Performance found an...

MOTON height change per adjustment nut revolution question

This is very close. According to Lex at Moton, it's actually 1.5 mm per turn or closer to 1/17 of an inch

    2010 ACR 5th gear!

Well the engineers are usually right, BUT NOT IN THIS CASE. If you run most any "roval" configuration type track (infield combined with NASCAR Oval), you will use 5th gear and the 2010 gear works MUCH better than the previous gear ratio.

2005 SRT with KW Coilovers- Got a question-

K W Variant 2's aren't really set up for the track, i.e. the spring rates are a bit soft as delivered. Also, it's very likely the car was not aligned or corner weighted properly as Mark mentions above. Lowering the rear of the car too much will actually transfer weight from the rear to the...

Gen 4 FULL Belanger set up. Opinions?

Always good to hear from SRT - wish they'd participate more frequently.

    Need an Alignment?

Gen III OE tires were run flats, GEN IV OE tires were PS2s. Likely, the shocks are valved a bit differently and may have different spring rates too. I'd buy all 4 Gen IV or try to find a single Gen III. Shouldn't need an alignment either way. Good luck.

    ACR wheels

If you track the car more than a couple of times a year, you'll want Hoosier R6's in 315 x 30 x 18 up front and 345 x 35 x 18 out back. Mount your new R6's on a set of OZ wheels from JonB (lighter and less costly than sidewinders) and you'll be grinning all the way around the track as you pass...

    Seatbelt stickers on visors GONE

Agree the stickers look pretty bad but ..... In slow to moderate traffic on warm days in a vert the visors do a pretty good job of directing outside air onto the occupants and help keep you cooler.:drive:

Differential Overheated? I have a Quaife? Anyone with a solution

Regular gear oil changes (after every 3 or 4 track weekends), more time in between sessions for cooling (minimum 30 minutes, more is better) and not over filling the diff will likely solve your problems. If you get a garage at the track, you could bring an electric fan. Devin (at Unitrax)...

    Thermostat Housing Question

Not seen this "hole drilling before". Gen III gasket, etc. is different. T-stat in video does not appear to be Gen III OE Cal Therm type. I have a Cal Therm OE type 170 T-stat in my Gen III and it works very well. Dan

    Exhaust Help Needed

I run secondary OE cats, enlarged to 3 inches behind the headers (in the sill) in my Paxton car. They work great, cut the volume down a bit, which is my taste too and pass the sniffer. They are pretty hard to beat. I had Lou Belanger fabricate an "around the corner" pipe for me so that I can...

    slipping clutch

Jay, You haven't told us how many miles are on the car, how it has been driven, the rwhp or mods or how you intend to use it - which are all factors. IMHO, if the car is mostly stock up to about 600 rwhp, go to DC, get the OE LUK clutch and pp replacement set. Have them check the flywheel...

    ACR setup

There are sooo many variables. Can you give us more info?, i.e. what type of tracks do your run, are they tight and twisty or do they have long straights, are they smooth, rough or bumpy (do you have to drive over berms?), what tires are you running, OE shocks?, Do you have a catch can? What...

600 RWHP GEN IV With Stock ECU

    Conversion of ACR to Hardcore

Can anybody recommend a race battery (very light but still powerful enough to crank the engine) that will fit in the OE location? Also, the seat lowering kit saves a bunch of weight for the passenger side if you want to take a passenger with you at the track. Dan

The Forum Wars: Viper ACR versus Modded Z06

CarDude, Hoosier makes a bunch of tires. Some are drag tires, some are road course tires, some are Auto X tires. Here are the facts: Last year the "Forum Wars" rules stated "DOT" only tires. Not wanting to let you guys down, I called Tire Rack and Parts Rack for their advice. I showed up...
