    Gen 4 intake manifold removal

Either that or your "viper tech" wasn't paying attention. I had oil in my intake of my 2009 ACR at 500 miles with only break in type driving. Never seen any Viper including Gen's 2, 3 and 4 without some oil in the intake. IMHO, there's just too much vacuum routed from the intake into the...

    Gen 4 intake manifold removal

I designed a catch can set up for my 09 ACR. I have put about 15K track miles on it to date and it works very well. I have also sent the parts list and pics out to members who have used it successfully. I DON'T sell it, I do this to try and help our members. My design is vented to the...

    Gen 4 intake manifold removal

Easy install. Gaskets are re-useable. If you don't have a catch can, you'll be surprised at how much oil is in your intake manifold. Dan

    PROJECT: "HARDCORE ACR-700R" Has Begun

The set up on post #84 looks like it should work, but it does involve modifying / drilling your valve covers and installing some fittings, which I did not care to do and is not easily reversible. I''ll stick with my set up. Works great, track tested and easily reversible back to OE, which is...

    PROJECT: "HARDCORE ACR-700R" Has Begun

We all have the same issue. Too much oil is sucked into the intake manifold. I have a track tested catch can design that I've used for over 16,000 track miles if you're interested. PM me with your email and I'll send the parts list and instructions to you as I have others - no charge just...

    Ralph "needs a raise" Thread.

Who signed off on the 4th gear "overall ratio" for the Gen V I wonder? The shorter 3.55 rear gear combined with the 1:1 fourth gear in the Viper definitely hurts the Viper in the 0 - 150 test, which the ZR1 beats us to. It will also hurt on many of the faster road courses. I'd guess they'll...

    PROJECT: "HARDCORE ACR-700R" Has Begun

I've seen a couple of these track extensions come off at the track. Both times the splitter extension was installed up side down. I've had no issues with mine up to 165 mph. Dan

ACR Guys with 275/35 fronts & 345/30 rear Michelin Super Sports... opintions please.

Re: ACR Guys with 275/35 fronts & 345/30 rear Michelin Super Sports... opintions plea I run the 275 fronts, 345 rears in PS2 C1 configuration on the street - when I pull the Hoosier off. They work fine under most conditinos, but I don't run the car hard on the street. On the track the PS2's...

    Changing Plugs - GEN IV

FYI, Snap-On makes an extra long extension with a swivel on the end that also locks the socket onto the swivel. This really makes things easier for 8 or 9 of the plugs (can't remember exactly). Definitely use a bit of antisieze on the plug threads and a bit of dielectric grease on the upper...

    Gen III oiling issues

Oil starvation can occur under any circumstances with the Gen III, including but not limimted to rights, lefts, acceleration and heavy extended braking (though this is less likely). Oil starvation can also occur with the Gen IV if you don't keep your oil level up. I always keep my oil level at...

    Problems with clutch hydraulic

Really need more info to help. Start by bleeding the clutch slave unit. Pretty straight forward. I use a vacuum pump on the bleeder at the bellhousing. Use good fluid, like Motul 600 or better. If you bleed it correctly and still have problems, change the slave as above. D

Who has increased oil pressure for track use?

Rule of thumb that I've been told by a very well known engine builder is that you want about 10 psi per 1000 rpm. If you check your oil pressure on the track in a Gen IV with 15W50 Mobil one, you will get about 60 psi at about 6000 rpm "hot" (oil temp about 210F) without modifying anything...

    ACR-X Brakes

The other variable in the instance you quote is front tire size and thus footprint. Most of us run larger sizes up front on the track, so comparing street car response would not be an "apples to apples" comparison. Dan

"And as far as the X rotors.... We really don't have a choice of pad brands as PFC is the only one making the large annulus pads. And I agree, they are very hard on rotors...:smirk:" Treesnake, Most of what you are saying is dead on, real world stuff. The driver controls the pressure on the...

Drive Laguna Seca June 28, 29, 30 with 105 Decible sound limit!

My goal for my second trip to LS this June would be a 1:35 "best lap" in my Viper. I think I can do this with the increased sound limit and will be happy if I do. The first time out, I always lifted and short shifted past the sound station as I did not want to get booted out, so lap times...
