Better yet, how about Alaska? ... even farther away ;)
... if we went to Louisville, KY we could all drive over to the Corvette plant in Bowling Green, and have 300+ Vipers each do stop & go burnouts in front of the plant :D
It has to be a place that has a track, but a track is a track. What counts is what else is there to do there to make it fun for 3 days. Vegas was awesome, but it can't be there every year -- not good for brand development in the east.
Chicago? I grew up there, yuck. The place is too spead out...
Re: More axed rummors for the Viper
How does Nissan Viper sound?
Concerns about Chrysler as auto show starts - Detroit auto show 2008 - MSNBC.com
And while we're blowing rumors out of our ___, what if the next Gen Viper is built on the GT-R platform?
:lmao: :lmao:
so true ... heck, I wouldn't even want to ride with that guy driving ... doesn't seem like he has any idea of control over the car as he says "whoa ..." everytime he hits the gas ...
'...rushed to production'? with no '07s? I guess it's all a matter of context.
'...ready to respond to the ZR1'? yeah, but that was before we all learned what a disappointment the ZR1 turned out to be. ... I mean c'mon, the ZR1 is going to be real popular parked in front of GameStop and at...
Bingo. Total BS. The ACR is IT for now, and the ACR may very likely BEAT the ZR1 when the magazines do their track performance comparisons, so why would Dodge even need to bother?
The only negative I ever noticed with my sidewinders was that the rear offset seemed to 'tuck' the rear tires inside the fender a little bit more -- I like the look when the tires are pushed out closer to the edge of the fenders.
Yep, a super easy upgrade. I even played around with some other brands too (the auto parts store brands never seemed to be much better) but here's a pic I posted a couple of years ago -- these has just a hint of blue/white color:
This reminds me of my thoughts on the Ford GT. The car was ahead of it's time. Ford should have waited until 2006 to introduce a limited run through '09 (to commemerate the 1966 - 1969 wins at LeMans) ... if they had waited, they would have surely introduced that car with more than 550Hp...
Good news. IMO, the Viper lines are so classic that putting the Aero package on a convertible would be like putting a wing on an AC Cobra :nono: ... it works on the more track-looking Coupe, but I hope, for the image of the car, that we don't see too many verts with wings ... just my $.02
After owning an '05, get some underside tape, or clear mask, or something under those sills immediately when you get a new Viper ... I won't make the mistake of waiting again with my '08 when it comes in
If I were putting an '08 ACR splitter on the front of any SRT vert -- for looks (and curb rash), I'd put that on the back, to balance the look (rather than the low-profile ACR wing).
Yes, but the ACR will absolutely 'run away' from everything else on the track on portions of the track with 120mph+ banking ... it will look silly, like the ACR is on rails and running faster without any fear of the wall ... it will run faster down the end of the straight going into the banking...
Maybe old news (and I can't confirm), but my dealer told me they are building Black cars right now ...
Regardless, to all of you lucky new '08 owners out there:
GET OFF YOUR BUTTS AND POST SOME MORE PICS!
:D
They are good guys. Did some work on a '03 Vette for me a few years ago.
One of the guys is a big fan of Vipers, and had a Gen2 that was 2x turbo and built up to dyno at something like 1100 hp ... ... right before it went 'boom'
