I've seen somewhere that there are stock shifters that have been cut down (shortened), so you can keep the stock leather look vs. the MGW rubber-covered ball ... I can't remember who sells them though.
What happened? All these theories? Well, what would you say if someone did that in a Ferrari? or an original AC Cobra?
So I'll say it if nobody else will: An idiot. That amount of damage confirms more than appropriate speed for ANY car in a parking lot and in the proximity of buildings, curbs...
I don't care for the look of the 'wrapped' & cut tubes anyway ... not nice enough for a $90K+ car ... IMO ... I'd just go with a green filter and that's it.
Blinders? Well, that's a two-way street. No, we don't drink the Bowling Green Kool-aid here.
I think all the 'Model' talk has to do with the fact that, at it's core, the Z06 or ZR1 is a lot like a Mustang GT500 -- a very well built-up version of a lesser car to begin with. Funny how nobody...
5th & 6th gear ... I assume your talking about higher speeds only, so it's not engine/rpm related.
I haven't driven those new '08 tires yet, but some brands can be real prone to flat-spotting in cooler temps. If so, the condition is usually gone after 10-15 mi ... see if it seems to get...
C&D Test results (they didn't include the '08 Viper, but I wish they had). I looks like the GT-R's numbers are mostly generated by off-the-line 4wd traction ... the Viper will run a way from it after that:
C&D magazine results:
0-60:
2008 Viper (10/07 issue): 3.5
2009 GT-R (5/08): 3.3 ...
I posted this a few months ago:
Here's the R&T test results (along with the MT and C&D numbers for comparison).
R&T did not test the Z06 side-by-side, so there was no comparison information except that R&T said, "The Tremec 6-speed now features larger gears, improved synchronizers and...
I've said it before so I'll say it again:
The '08 Viper beats the Z06 period. The Corvette loses. The Viper is the better/faster car.
Any comparison to the ZR1, only applies to the ACR.
There is no issue about a Viper 'lining up next to a ZR1' ... sorry, but the ZR1 needs to take that...
Interesting ...I was just reading the May issue of 0-60 magazine (page 24):
"Unlike the Italian supercars that Chevy wants to compete with, the technology inside the ZR1 didn't trickle down from a sophisticated Formula One program. The engine is the Chevrolet LS9, a 6.2L V8 based on the LS3...
I saw question here a while back about insurance, and I was wondering what the collective wisdom might be about Viper friendly insurance companies? ... :eater:
