The Wavetrac is a great LSD for the street. It wont loose traction when a wheel gets of the ground, unlike a Quaife or Tru-Trac. For the track, I prefer the OS Giken.
If you drive in cold weather with a cooler thermostat with an 08-09 Model. It could go into Limp Mode. I use a 170 thermostat in our ACRX's, but do not use it on the street cars.
Yes this has been an issue on some cars. There is a new part number for both passenger and drivers side door handles, only if you have had this issue. Mark Jorgensen from Woodhouse helped me with this, much thanks.
Scruff up the rotors or turn them. If you run the same pads you can get away with just changing them as long as there are not hot spots or transfer spots. If you change pad types then you always need to scruff or turn the rotors.
Thanks everyone. SPT is here to help and can take over when when other shops have given up. We enjoy technical projects and complicated builds. We also can help you with any type of service you might be need. Feel free to consult with us anytime. 310-597-6295
The 70 mm throttle bodies work well with a bigger cam and a proper tune. On a stock motor they hurt low speed throttle response and only pick up 5rwhp.
I can supply you with a 3.73 or 3.91 gear with everything needed to install it. 6th gear will feel much shorter on the hwy. We are working on a higher 6th gear-lower rear end ratio package.
This (Triple hanger) type of fuel delivery pump does not use a surge tank and can cause fuel starvation issues with less than 1/2 tank of gas. You can build a complete return fuel system with a in-tank primer pump and surge tank, external pump(s), regulator and and new fuel lines to support that...
Mark is correct, there is only 1 part number. When you program in the Vin number the controller knows if you have a vert or coupe. Then it knows how to set the electric window memory functions for soft and hard tops.
If you have a Gen 2, we make a baffle kit for the oil pan and dual pusher fans to help low speed cooling. Marks suggestion is good, we have a misting setup we use in the front of the radiator when we do a lot of dyno load testing, makes a big change in temps.
I agree, the Viper is not designed as a drag racer. We built many Vipers for the drags and the one mile, there was always a point at which you change the whole nature of the car. There are some minor mods you can make to each Gen to make it better and more reliable at the drags while still...
The reason this problem can be hard to define is that there are many things that can cause this issue. Mark and Doug made some good comments. Tell us some more about your car, engine or driveline mods, how many miles? Those 20 inch rear wheels use a Mich tire with a very stiff sidewall, tire...
There was a mention to how things can break trying to get a good ET, we struggled with driveline issues on Drag Vipers until we changed to automatic transmissions. Then they were very reliable.
Here is a link to our first NHRA certified 8 second run, several years ago. We had to change this car to an automatic, or else it would just break parts.
