It all comes down to if you are a "motor" guy or "image" guy.... if you appreciate the 4 cam supercharged motor stuffed into a mustang body, then it is something of interest and one would not care if wannabe mustangs are running around because they simply are not the same car. Not sure why one...
the 2007-2009 Shelby iron block cars were great daily drivers but nothing special, although they are rare in terms of production numbers.. (not viper rare of course)
My old lady hated mine too and always grabbed the keys to the viper... :)
the 2011-2012 shelbys got the aluminum block and...
If you run the Cups on multiple track days, you then have to deal with them being well worn when commuting to the grocery store afterwards and such.... and in the rain they suck.....
You will scratch your head when you reach for your wallet to buy another set only to realize that you have not...
i used to be one :)
Dont get me wrong, it is the best DOT tire as far as im concerned and i love them, but they just dont last for those who pound on them with regular use. Expensive habit.
yup, 2011 and 2012 models are the same and going for good deals becuase the 2013 is around the corner with the be all end all 5.8L as opposed to the 5.4L.....
the shelby is great daily driver. like a 2 door grand marquis....
I still have a 2007 as my beater and it makes commuting an easy...
been a sport cup guy for years until i tired the Super Sports..... they are almost as sticky on the track and 10 times better in the rain.... and last wayyy longer..... sport cups are for weekend drivers only.... cars n coffee folks that take in 1-2 D.E a year..... OR for guys that mainly...
i must admit, i am a sucker for a viper with stripes... I also melt when i see ACR coupe stripes!
One of the only cars that can pull off stripes nowadays tastefully....
in todays economic times, or perhaps i have matured too much after years of driving in your face kind of vehicles, it is not enjoyable driving to and from the office in bumper to bumper traffic in a radical luxury car decorated in stripes or bright colors..... best to be subtle as one can be...
Well, if the Shelby dosnt make the cut, and you would consider a resto mod for around the same price, i got the car for you.....
How would you like a 1970 Cuda resto mod with a 2010 6.1lL Hemi fuel injected motor and your choice of suspension, brakes, A/C, wheels and transmission?
Also do not overlook the 2012 and especially 2013 shelby mustang. They are easy to get in and out of and are a fun car with a special allure. Great daily driver.
Easy.
Look at a new Porsche 991 Carrera S.
Or for less money you could look at a Porsche 997 Carrera GTS.
The porsches are easy to live with and make great daily drivers.
I am sold 100% on Super Sports, however i have been hearing good things on Pirelli Trofeo in terms of grip, life span and heat cycles.
They are lasting longer than the Nittos and Toyo 888....
The new Trofeo R tire is supposed to wear even better....
Great D.E tire.
Own a 2005 Viper and wil be installing Super Sports this summer on new rims.
Currently track/race a Porsche GT3RS and have been burning through Sport Cups like toilet paper.... Tried the Super Sports last year and havent looked back.
They last way longer, are almost as sticky, better in the...

I have no emmissions where i live and could pull it off if somebody was to recommend it.....
I will be in the market for it too just incase somebody is looking to sell :)
