Sadly, almost all awesome cars fall from grace at some point through the passage of the years and the effects of depreciation. A lot of people who didn't have access to the Viper before, do now, and this sort of thing will become increasingly common. I have actually seen the unthinkable--a...
Examine the "runout" again, as it might be a bent wheel that is hard to see. I'm thinking inner bead area. A timed mechanical vibration on the front implies a high or low spot on one or both wheels. My 2cents. Good luck with it.
The reality is, being smitten with anything is all in your mind anyway. From time to time everything needs a fresh perspective. So, here is what you do: Rent a motorhome, if you don't have one already, and take a week long trip, then follow it up by renting a Prius for a week as a daily...
This strikes so close to home because we drive Vipers and know how they can behave or not. For those of us who have entertained ourselves, our children, friends, and loved ones by demonstrating the raw performance characteristics of our cars, it would be an understatement to say: be careful out...
I fell in love with the car the first time I saw it at the 1989 SF international auto show. It is a beautiful work of art that excites me every time I look at it. It has all of the world class beauty combined with the stout reliability that I have only known American cars to deliver again and...
This looks like something to try. Perhaps a cheap fix for once.
I have stock headers, so a short restriction of the same diameter shouldn't make any difference in performance.
I had an extra camera tripod that I took a leg off of. I now use it for a prop when it is windy. It collapses nicely and is light and tasteful--as a prop can be, that is.
I was thinking about getting a cargo cover and putting egg carton foam on the back side of it in hopes of knocking it down a bit, but I figured it couldn't be that easy. I love the Borla, but I find myself saying, "what?" all the time :omg:
I was out driving my GTS over the weekend and while in the usual drone rpms, I drove over a grated drawbridge and the intensity went way down. I guess it interferes with the sound bouncing back up to the car off the ground. That got me to thinking of ways to diminish cabin drone without...
The thing that has to be ultimately acknowledged here is that despite the records that can be obtained, the inspections that can be made short of a tear down, and all the testimonials about the car's maintenance and handling, it is, in the end a used car--a used high performance car. These...
Saw a Solid yellow 2002 GTS with a bra on the nose at Euro-Sunday on father's day. The new owner was a real nice fellow and loving the Viper. Not a member yet, but he says he's joining. Also saw a sapphire blue rt-10 going up Sycamore Valley Road in Blackhawk. The museum had free admission...
I've tried them and they're so, so. I am so finicky about picking up a bit of grit and causing a scratch, that I stick with the tried and true. Lots of clean towels. Microfiber on all the jewel surfaces (the whole car)
and towels on the wheels and such. I never clean the Viper in a hurry...
They're just GREEN...Most people have no idea how much a Viper costs so they make assumptions based upon looks, but to look at one striking a pose in a parking lot...? It really does look like a million bucks. Revel in your wisdom and enjoy your awesome purchase. Thank you Dodge. If you want...
So, I was massaging the GTS today and noticed the beginnings of UV weathering on the window sweep (outer) on top of the doors. What products are recommended for slowing outside rubber aging? Are they still available?
Sounds like a bit of air in the system. As with all hydraulic systems, compressible air bubbles can cause unpredictable, or spongy performance--think incomplete bleeding in your brakes and how they perform. I would start by bleeding the clutch fluid and go from there. The level in the...
Coming from the V-8 universe of sound, I was a bit disappointed with the GTS's at first, but the exotic note seems to go with its unique looks. Way too quiet at birth, I fitted some Random Tech high flow cats to a four muffler Borla cat back. I now crave the sound. At some rpms it sounds a...
