The only Windows machine i have is at work. I run Virtual PC on one of my Mac's if I have to run a Win App. Microsoft Office has been rewritten to run on Mac's now so I can work at home when necessary. The Mac version of MS Office runs better on a Mac than the Win version on a PC.
Once you...
Re: Dealer has excess 04\'s....pricing?
Joel, that seems surprising. I was just offered a 2005 Silver Mamba with 4 miles on it for $75k. $74k for a 2004 seems high.
Re: new coupe
It's not surprising that they are sitting on lots, just not here for some reason. The C6's so far have had a lot of bugs from what I have read. But then again most new models do. The depreciation on vettes is also a killer regardless of generation. Another benefit of owning a...
Re: new coupe
It was posted on GM Inside News. I will look for the link. Sorry but I have no plans on selling the GTS. I know you like to keep your group small and any thinking beyond the Viper is frowned upon.
I wasn't aware when I bought the Viper I had to shun all other vehicles ever...
Re: new coupe
Viperman,
First off... The Red Devils Rule. Now...
The factory sponsored Corvette Racing Program is very extensive. Also at least in this area C6's are not sitting on the lots. They actually still go for full invoice. GM effectively got rid of their entire 05 inventory with the...
Re: new coupe
GM has tweaked the LS7 powerplant to it's fullest but has already announced the LS9 for 2008, 600hp. Also calling anything under the Vette program an unfunded dream is kinda funny considering how much money goes into that program.
A stock C6 recently scored better on a road course(http://www.roadandtrack.com/article...article_id=1949) than the Viper. The idea that the Viper would outperform a Z06 at the Ring is unlikely. The Viper gets more attention though.
But yes Sween, you are in denial.
The lower production number of the Viper(2000-2500 yr) do make the car a bit more exotic.
The upside to higher production numbers is the amount of money that gets thrown toward the Vette program and the racing program. Most of the improvements on the C6 Z06 are coming from the C6R. That money...
Did anyone else read the Porsche will no longer import the Carrera GT due to Govt. asking for more crash test data. Does anyone that pays 400k for a car care about crash test data? I know if I buy that car and get t boned I am a gonner.
I agree with Porsche's assessment that wrecking 400k cars...
The LS9 powerplant is a 6.2L Supercharged engine that will be on the 2008 Z06 apparently. The LS3 is NA. It's neat to see that much horsepower as stock. In a few years the stock Vette will produce the same hp as my Viper, with better braking. Won't turn as many heads though!
I guess i just see things differently. I know that my car being an 2002 has a lesser cam and does not have the forged internals like the earlier GTS's. From that aspect it is a lesser car. It also has medicore brakes and I envy the SRT guys for that. But it doesn't make my blood boil, I love my...
A Sept. delivery for the new coupe on Ebay just went for 88k. I believe that's not even over sticker. Not a great sign and I agree there has not been enough hype over the new coupe from outside the Viper crowd. Hopefully that will change when the car hits the streets.
Luxury Motors has several different locations. If you notice they are all at different spots around town. The Orland Park dealer always prices at what he will sell for. The other two locations, Hoffman Estates & Downers Grove start out higher but will work down to the 59k number or below...
I am proud of the car and I hope for more from DCX.
That being said if I walked into work and ignored the competition and just kept telling myself we are the best company around no matter what I would be out a job soon. I give credit where it's due, even if it's the competition. But after that...
