Just received today an email from Chrysler about the warranty on my 08 Viper. Is it cheaper going direct to Chrysler or through a dealer? I'll still do it but I too am nervous about the quality of the dealers in CO. Brandon seemed to be the place to go when Glenn was there but he left. I...
The CB (and trailer hitch to which it is attached) were installed when the car was new. Car was bought specifically to compete in One Lap. A CB is very handy as we have to travel thousands of miles over the road in a week. Last year we left Denver with 80 miles on the ACR when we returned...
Now that is funny. And exactly how I feel.
I met the guy that built the program for the Gen 4 computer, forget his name but he was on One Lap of American when Chris was running one of the first ACRs. He was the co-driver. He didn't work for Chrysler as I recall but some other supplier...
So JonB is correct then. The 19 year olds have more accidents and more driving related deaths than any other category including the 75+. Could this be because 75+ drivers don't drive as much or is it because when they do they tend to drive into buildings so their trips are short. Hardly a...
Had the Max Care 7/70 on my 06 Coupe. Paid for itself 5 times over. New rear hubs and tie rods, power steering hoses, clock spring, window regulator, door lock mechanism, new engine with all the needed bits, and new heater motor. Mind you I drove the car hard. Plan to get one for my 08 and...
How does the PCM know that the second (cleanup) cat is even in place? Isn't the downstream O2 sensor between the primary and secondary cats? I always thought that the downstream O2 is what the PCM used to determine cat efficiency by comparing voltages between upstream and downstream sensors...
There are all kind of people that have wrecked Vipers (me included). Some have paid the ulitimate price and that is very sad. Truth is that the car can bite if mistreated regardless of age. Age, however, increases experience and maybe you've had a few more close calls under your belt that...
Where do you mount the secondary O2 with American Racing Headers? I had thought that issues with CELs have more to do with placement of O2s. The American Racing headers mount the upstream O2 in the collector don't they? This is supposed to be better than mounting them in one pipe as it gives...
I love my 08 VBB Vert and my 09 ACR but I sure do miss my Supercharged First Edition 06 coupe which I sold a few months ago. Probably should have kept it. In a straight line it would kick the ACR's butt but on a road course the ACR is something special.
Tomball installed mine before I got the car. It connects between the passenger side valve cover and the intake. It uses stock valve covers and simply splices in the line between the front of the valve cover and the intake. While I didn't personally install mine it looks really simple to do.
I have the same oil/air separator from DC on my 09 ACR. Have tracked the car a bunch and have put 7000 miles on it since the separator was added to the car when new. No oil in mine, ever. In fact I was worried that there should be some and there isn't. Haven't checked the throttle bodies but...
Remember though just adding a splitter to the front will effect handling. The car will over steer, this is not good. You need balance. If you add too much down force in the front without adding down force to the rear the car will not handle properly.
