Re: She\'s Back!!
Glad to hear she is back Jeff. From the pic the damage doesn't seem to be much, must be drivable in my judgement. Is this normal for the cost of repair or did you insist on getting more detailed work and upgrades?
Re: HELP, Viper won\'t start!!
Lefty, Battery definitely needs to be changed especially if it is that old.
Save yourself all the trouble shooting headaches and change the battery first. It should start on the first try after that.
If for any reason it doesn't, than you can start diagnosing...
Re: HELP, Viper won\'t start!!
Battery is dead. There might be enough juice to turn the lights and horn but not enough amps for the starter.
How old is the battery? Replace it and it should be fine.
Jumping might not start it unless you use a high amp source.
Congratulations..Nice car. I too am a former Vette owner moving to Viper.
Nasty, how did you drive the C5 over speed bumps? It seems the car is lowered and even the smallest speed bumps at the mall or residentail streets would be a problem of in my opinion. If you drove it at an angle the under...
Glenn, Thanks for the advice and heads up. I think Dan is in Marina Del Rey, from what I gathered reading the posts here. My way of buying a pre-owned machine is that I have to see it in person first..haven't made an unseen purchase yet. I wounldn't mind flying to NE to pick mine up and drive it...
I would suggest replacing the thermostat and gaskets first if they haven't been replaced yet. It shouldn't be that expensive especially if you can tackle this yourself. Not many tools are need to do this. A replacement thermostat would be peace of mind if it is 8 years old.
Once replaced you...
Congratulations FE GTS on the snake, I know you will love it. I am making that move as well from Vette to Viper soon.
I have heard many great things about Bill too but unfortunately he is rather far for me to consider. Can anyone recommend a dealer in the S. California area that has a good...

From my experience being in the salvage auto industry, I would stay away from a flood damage car, like Eddie and Joe put it. Water damage does funny things to the electrical system, water and charge don't mix well, and these problems would show up years later at the most unexpected places.
I...

Go with 95 with AC.
Depending on where you live, you might not need the AC, but if you do, you have it. A top is easy to add on as compared to an AC.
Good luck.

How important was ABS or no-ABS in making some of your decisions?
