Bob:
Looks like you had a great time.
Fast Freddy did outstanding (to come in 2nd). :2tu:
The best I have done in 5 years was within 1 second (2005) and took 2nd. At this event, being within 1 second was good for 8th Place - VERY competitive!!!
I look forward to seeing the results for the...
For someone that is looking for a full set of ACR Wheels that are more affordable because they have been "well used", check out this auction:
ACR Wheels on Ebay
I have swithched to BBS LM wheels so these are now up for sale.
At VOI 8 Dallas, one needed to drive over to Shreveport, LA to get some 1/4 mile action (which was well worth the drive). This time there is a Drag Strip on site in Vegas.
Considering the large gathering of some fairly quick Vipers, will there anything organized like classes, competition, etc...
You're not crazy and counted correctly.
I have 3:45 rear gears. When I did some trans work I also swapped 5th and 6th gears for .8 and .63 ratios (versus .75 and .50). This makes 6th gear usable and becomes the top speed gear. It makes for a comfortable run for the 90 miles too.
This way I get...
Paul: Maybe we'll get you out there next May.
Vic: 185 - that particular stretch of road is a 14 mile straight.
I probably should have removed the vent covers.
By the way,

I summarized my recent trip to the Silver State Event in the Viper Racing Section
Now here's some In Car Video from that week.
The first one is a 0-100-0 clip. I had straighter stops and better launches but this was the only one I captured for the 100 mph event. 0-100-0 Run
The second one is...
Thanks for the comments.
Big Medicine: I don't have anything on my hood. There is a K&N Sponsor's Decal directly above my NACA air inlet duct on some photos. At the Silverstate, all cars running the event have decals on their cars. If this is not the answer, let me know which photo in my...
All four. Here's a pic:
They work great at the track, especially with my Hoosiers, but "panic" (shortest possible) stops from 100 lock up without the ABS.
Perhaps someone with proper foot modualtion might have done better.
My future strategy will be to keep these Vettes in my rear view mirror and not focus on the "stopping" part.
It's also too hard on the tires without ABS.
I returned recently from a week of fun at the Nevada Open Road Challenge. The new Z06s made a good showing as expected and THEY are definitely contenders.
I ended up in 2nd Place Overall for the Z1Z (0-100-0 Event) and lost the Vbox prize to a Z06 by 19 feet.
Speed -Stop/ Z1Z Challenge...
Re: Clear Bra\'s noticable???
Check out my front fascia on the link below after I pulverized a bunch Nevada bugs at an average of 150 mph for ninety miles. It just cleaned up nice with the film coating. My "clear bra" also goes up the hood to just in front of the vents. To see the line - you...
Hey Art:
Will we see you and Teri there this May?
We're going to VOI, but will do the Silverstate in May not September.
For those interested in the September Silver State Classic, here's a previous post that may be informative (just change the dates around): Info for May NORC
How does averaging 100+ MPH speeds for 90 miles on a Public Highway sound to you? How about the rush of a One Mile Drag Race or a 0-100MPH-0 Competition? These are where our Vipers really excel and they are all available at this year’s Nevada Open Road Challenge.
When: Wednesday, May 18...
Here's a better pic of a "bodyless" Comp Coupe that DC Performance brought to our SoCal Summer Picnic.
It was a pretty cool go-cart ride around the parking lot.
