NOS OCTANE BOOSTER... Who uses it?

Stuck a can of the NOS octane booster in today. I have to say it eliminated the knock going from closed to open loop on my set-up. I felt a lot "safer" running it hard today through the gears since I usually get some audible knock as I transition into boost from vacuum. I'll use the SCT to...

    Bleed off rate of lifters?

Seeing as they are in fact hydraulic lifters, I'd set them all to the "not bled down" setting if that's the right pre-load you are seeking. I'm assuming that should be similar on the Jessels as to what is used on the TDs...aka one turn in from all the way out... assuming you have the correct...

    Aluminum vs Chromolly flywheel

Some metals metals perform better when warm andother become more prone to failure. I would have to believe Findaza has done the R&D to determine the best characteristics leading to their product. SFI rated. Not sure about the other. Anyone know of a Findaza to fail?

    Aluminum vs Chromolly flywheel

Heat is a fickle thing. I can certainly understand the theory that the aluminum will get hotter faster potentially leading to early falure, but it will also dissipate heat faster too. Once a steel flywheel gets hot, it will retain heat longer as well. I suppose it boils down to application...

    Vec 2/3 guys

OEM I got 21 on the highway. With the 2.4 blower I got 17 mpg. With the 2.8 and blower cam I'm at 13 highway. Average at most fillups is 10mpg.

How the hell do you push the piston back in when changing e-brake pads?

I had to laugh at this since the first time I did mine I wasted hours...like a monkey with a football. And then I figured out it simply turned in. Can't recall what I used, but it was very easy to spin. Glad you figured it out.

Texas raising the speed limit to 85

Still too slow. We should be able to buy a vehicle registration that has "speed exempt" on the tag for certain types of roads. I'd pay $1k a year for registration like that!! When I used to ride bikes, 85 was right where the bike came into its own. Anything slower seemed like crawling.

    Paxton or Roe?

Your buddies $50K in vette mods won't due much for his driving experience either if he doesn't put his foot into it as well...Oh well, whatever you decide you will have fun either way. Just be careful. I had to totally re-learn my car after putting the blower on it. Completely different...

    Paxton or Roe?

Brass tacks would be to just leave it as is..since your R/T has more than enough useable low-end power already...in all honesty. If you aren't tapping into that already, why are you looking for more via a supercharger? By your own admission, you don't WOT your current capabilities. A better...

    Yellow Paint?

Even when I sprayed mine, the base coat can look different based on the sun angle and panel shape. My side sills look darker sometimes and other times, they match the doors just fine...same for the front facia. Also, the color/pigment of the primer can (will) affect how the base looks once...

    Who's is this?

From some angles I like and others I don't...but I did notice the entire front facial has been repainted. Screws in front of the front wheels give it away. What should it look like? Hint: factory has subdued black edge treatment where the screws attach. Most repaints just spray body color...

New Member -- Deciding Between c6 Z06 or Gen III Coupe

I only have two points to make. 1. If you have to ask the question, you already know the answer. 2. I highly doubt you are over 60 with grey hair.

    Mobil 10w30 vs. 10w40?

Oil obviously will not help with the injectors cycling...but they do make a lot of noise...which is normal. Love the sewing machine sounds!!

NOS OCTANE BOOSTER... Who uses it?

Stuff gets expensive to just burn through the engine if its not needed...ergo why I like my Water-Methanol injection for octane and boost induced detonation.

NOS OCTANE BOOSTER... Who uses it?

OK I actually read the data sheet...use with a minimum of 16 gallons of fuel. Hummm...12 fluid oz. I would like to believe it but have my reservations. Oh well, can't hurt to try I suppose.

NOS OCTANE BOOSTER... Who uses it?

Well color me purple...60/6 points for the NOS brand? Heck I'll have to give that a shot if that is true. For what...a 10 gallon mix??

NOS OCTANE BOOSTER... Who uses it?

You do realize that your octane increase is only from say 91 to 91.7 or 93 to maybe 93.7 if using premium.... Get a quart of TORCO if you really want to increase your actual octane.

Anyone Else Notice GEN IIs Are Disappearing?

The lower the prices get the more that have no business owning one will become owners...and either get snake bit or beat the crap out of it. Either way, they aren't making any more of them so at some point, the novelty of owning a pristine GEN-II will start to bump the prices back up.
