Just got the mag in the mail today.................
..........amazing how they still keep ragging on how un-nice the Viper is.
What were they expecting...........a car for wine and cheese tasting events,...or what?
It is a pissed-off track car for crazy people.
Of course it isn't...
At a premium price value of 5 bucks in a strong economy with all other Viper prices being normal,
the dramatic downfall of the value of Vipers drops mine to less than 30 cents now. :(
Monetarily, this has been the stupidest thing I ever bought. :crazy2:
......but it sure has been fun. :drive:
:(
Sucks.
Who knows what the circumstances were, but when these things happen, helps you remember not to be to overconfident in these cars.
sad, sad deal for the passenger and her family.
Oh.................
stupid, ugly orange peel doesn't show up in pics.
-good thing for a lot of cars. :rolaugh:
Orange peel on a Viper.........:crazy2:
yeah, get rid of that.
No direct experience with 95 Viper platform.
But, assuming it's the same as other Chrysler vehicles in respect to engine control and sub-systems (most of that stuff is),
PCM has control of fan operation.
Input is from engine coolant temp sensor. No other 'fan switch/sensor' like some vehicles...
Whatever for that 918.................
For all that went into that thing, and for the pricetag, it should be some kind of hypercar fast.
If not, would've been a major fail.
And I do not like those ugly GTR's.
Killer fast they are.........................but I still don't like them.
I am an avid reader of Ross Bentley. :)
Have several of his books.
Periodically, I am fortunate enough to receive tips/tricks from a driver that was coached by Ross.
Impromptu classroom conversation with this guy in the paddock has really helped me progress as a driver.
My car still has...
I have run both on the track.
Invo's are great for the street and road trips.
They totally suck on the track though.
Cups are awesome when they are new, but require a little more warm up time than other track tires.
After several heat cycles, it takes even more laps before you can push...
I have the Adams SVRT. Never tried it though. Got it as a free sample when I ordered case lots of Detail spray and Glaze.
Tried the Mopar Satin Select for interior stuff, wasn't too thrilled over it.
I use Armor All.........even though I don't like the greasy either.
old habits die hard.
..........This is a difficult market to survive in.
If you can't just type JTS Venom in your search engine and have their info come up, the may have found out how hard it is to have a business like that and folded.
Hopefully not.
Apparently guys like Roe, SPT, A&C, PartsRack, Snakeoyl and such...
Stuff like this makes me not so bummed out to have a gen III.
At least it's a platform that can be modded and improved on.
.....capable of power levels of the newer cars, without having to add boost to get there.
There is no factory provided access.
The service/ repair information shows 'cut here' lines in the trunk well after you remove the carpet.
Cut an access to make your own door, fold it back and seal with silicone or similar.
Looks like it has been preserved in a time capsule. :)
Would not stay that way if I were to buy it.......
........Because I wouldn't be able to resist driving it. :drive:
I don't shoot for any target hot pressure anymore.
Gave up on that approach along time ago.
Have settled on my cold pressure settings by many trial and error sessions of adjusting up and down a pound at a time.
Adjustments made by feel of the car throughout each day/session and tire wear...
