You'd be surprised what comes down the assembly line sometimes..........
I know that sucks, but it is a reality
I pull wrenches on vehicles for a living. Have been in the automotive service industry for over 30 years now. Independent shop owner for the last 19 years. ASE certified master auto...
The defect on the lower arm may have been there from when new. Or it happened while the car was being worked on at some point.
Because that part of the arm is inside the wheel and nothing can hit it while driving. No way it hit something on the road.
I'd let it go.
The cotter pin doesn't hold...
What makes you think you need an Accusump for autocross/track use?
Most of us just add an extra quart above full and have no problems.
Oil starvation in Vipers will occur in long high speed sweepers with sticky tires that allow high G's in the turn.
Autocross doesn't seem to ever put the car...
Wow. Don't remember seeing those before...........
I think they are way dumb. :crazy2:
Like I said before, The cars that had screens get them removed for track use. The ACR-X didn't have screens, I don't think the new GTS-R has screens. The ALMS Vipers don't have screens.
Those stupid screens...
Miller has a few car dealerships in Colorado.
......probably in Utah too I guess.
Never been to MMP, but it was on my map of future tracks to drive.
Looks like I may miss the opportunity, unless someone else takes it over.
:(
Gen III cars (2003-2006) did not have anything in the hood vents.
Gen IV cars have the screens.
Most track guys remove them for more air flow to help keep the engine compartment cooler.
I've had mine for 8 years now, and still don't get tired of staring at it. :D
..................only thing that sucks is when there's bugs on the front of it :crazy2:
150mph+ bugs look different than 65 mph bugs. ;)
Do the cops pull you over all the time for having the numbers blacked out on the plates? :dunno:
I get hassled now and then for no front plate. If I blacked out the rear, they'd really freak out. :lmao:
Put the jack's pad on the bottom of the point, not next to it.
I also sometimes use the cross section of the frame (in your pic) under the rear diff.
I use a short piece of 2x4 on the jack pad for this as well.
With P0420/P0430.....................the cat is dead.
These are not O2 sensor codes. These codes are set because the PCM is not seeing a change in the exhaust gases measured from before and after the cat.
If there is no expected chemical change in the exhaust after it's been through the...
2006 factory fill is Mobil-1 0w40. A lot of us have had issues with valvetrain noise at idle with the recommended oil -or any of the lighter weights like 5w30, 10w30, etc.
Most of us track rats run 15w40 or 15w50. The heavier oil seems to cure the excessive valve clatter. (noise is due to the...
All the fluids...........
Spark plugs, a good idea. -I change mine every season. I am still running the original wires though. Just haven't had a problem or reason to replace them.
I am at a little over 57,000 miles. Been tracking the car since 22,000 miles. No street driving other than the...
Gen III motor is staggered to the passenger side also.................don't know what the measurement is though. But it's obvious that it's not centered.
That is the 'fill plug'.
I never use it though. I fill using the plug above that. The above plug is a return provision for adding a diff cooler to the car.
Don't fill all the way to the upper plug hole. -that would be way overfilled.
I put in a quart and a half, plus the additive and call it...
Upside-down in a convertible is a bad thing.
Wonder if it was another broken rear knuckle that caused a loss of control, catching 1st gear instead of 3rd while accelerating, or just trying to impress the girl and things went wrong.
Wow. I wasn't aware the gen V's had cruise control.
I love that fact that my gen III does not.
I got an 09 Z06 last November to have as a second track car. Now that you bring it up, I don't know if it has cruise control or not. :dunno:
I noticed the brakes, diff cooler, trans cooler, dry...
