Seeing as our cars are a bit unique, I've been a little surprised by the number of Sapphire/Silvers I've seen on the VCA board. I've only seen one other in person and that was at the Roundup in Austin this last spring.
Of course, we all know that beautiful Leslie has one ... others please...
Found out that MY Boss was OK with the Snake at 115 mph with her putting on lipstick! She's one in a million and will always stand behind me and my cars ... EXCEPT when it bites into the savings too much. Any time you have that feeling in the back of your mind that it's either 'me or the car'...
My CBR1000RR (sport bike) was named 'THE Bitch' because if you didn't treat her right (with respect), she would throw you to the ground and stomp on you. For my Viper, 'The Snake' seems to be fitting.
Just got my injectors back from Tony and I'm putting them in tonight. Can someone please check their shop manual and tell me what torque it calls out for the aluminum bracket that holds the injector in the intake manifold? I've already gradually tightened the bolts with 10-15 minutes in between...
Bought my 2001 GTS from another member on the board exactly a year ago. The original tires were a handfull and replaced them with PS2s in February to give me enough traction to take on a track day.
If it even matters, my original tires are being pulled off my track wheels tomorrow and sent...
I've been using a dash mat on all my vehicles for about 15 years ... EXCEPT the Viper. Bought one for it when I got it, but didn't like the way it looked. They're great for the DD- cut down on sun hitting directly on the dash and also on glare when you're driving. Besides, dust doesn't show...
I've never heard a single negative comment or received a gesture other than positive. I guess when it happens, I'll just ignore it and assume that I misunderstood what they were saying. How can ANYONE not just love these cars? Some of the things reported above amaze me ... can't believe that...
I got this one a few months ago for my '01 and have been satisfied with it. The blue racing jack in the other post wasn't low enough to easily go under my front frame (wanted to leave a little margin in case the tire was flat).
Got clear lenses for my front side markers and put them in tonight. Wanted to share some ideas for those that haven't dealt with it yet to save you some irritation and time. A lot of this is based on what I've read and figured out this evening. :D
First, it may be easy with the facia off, but...

On the Random Tech HI-Flow CATS, the difference in the price comes from the internals. The guys are actually made of different materials.
Give Jon-B a call ... he can explain and get you a good price.:2tu:
It doesn't seem to matter WHERE I park in the lot ... there are always cars around my Snake when I come back out. If not cars, people hanging around taking pictures and wanting to ask questions.
At work, I'll often have really nice sports cars that gyrate towards my car. At least I know...
Diane, I'm sure you look marvelous getting in and out of a Viper with a skirt and heels, but I think you're probably putting on a nice show in the process.:D Maybe a few pics are in order to show us all the 'ladylike' way to get in and out?:lmao:
6th gear? My GTS hasn't seen 6th gear in about 6 months! It was only cruising with the Austin bunch and ripping through the Hill Country that prompted 6th.
I try to use some common sense and leave some room for others. Every now and then, I'll get a front place where I can see it and enjoy the people doing a double take.
At work, when I drive my GTS, I park right up front where everyone can see it. Only about 1,300 where I work and most know...
It's an EVERY day thing when I drive my Snake and I try real hard to just ignore those behind me. It's impossible to totally ignore it, but it's not worth the aggrevation and destroying the enjoyment of driving this piece of machinery.
I get a lot of people that really appreciate the car and...
It may be a year old, but finding clear lenses is still a challenge.:D
I've been looking off and on for a year and finally decided to just spend the couple of extra dollars and order them from Klearz.
Watch out on the comments about a year old thread or I'll bring the Vipair thread...
Though I don't push my Snake to it's limits, I switched to Motul this last time around. It was highly recommended by my tech as good insurance ... they have never had an engine blow in a race and trash bearings when running it, unlike Mobil 1. The way *I* figure it, the OIL is the most basic...
