Whats a good power steering fluid?

Stick with what you have but check if it is red or clear first and check what the dealer sells you.

Looking for Detroit Area Tire Changer

Scorch, Trust me on this...go to Motorwerks and ask for Satish. It's somewhere in that area around Farmington Hills and he will give you a VCA discount. Make sure you tell him how important your wheels are to you and that you want him personally to do them. He'll schedule the time. He has...

    Brake fluid recommendation?

Motul does make great fluid but the only downside is that it is a brownish color right out of the bottle. Val Syntech is a great Dot4 fluid and clear. Blue Oval is good too. Castrol SRF for about $100 is the best.

Whats a good power steering fluid?

OEM but be careful. I heard there was a wrong service bulletin and the were selling the clear stuff for earlier ones that use the red stuff

Possible record? Over 3 months of dailing driving clean car w/o washing it.

I switched off the cali duster to one that is real soft and looks like a cats tail when a cat has the crap scared out of it. Less chance for scratches. I stole it from my wife since it was a duster for the house.

    Question about '94 RT/10 exhaust.....

Re: Question about \'94 RT/10 exhaust..... grkss400hp, Stop for a second. You are replacing the wrong thing. Cut out the stock cat. Replace with stainless 2.5" pipe. Make sure to keep everything in alignment and measure overall length before and after so everything lines up well...

Need some Rims !! Anyone have some for Sale ?

Your ACR's are worth a ton of cash. If they are in good shape, I'd sell them and buy a used and even lighter set for the track and have a lot of cash left over for a nice set of street rims.

You might consider calling some of the people here for used parts and getting a Service Manual.

    A/C Cooling Question/Help

A1998, My experience was just the opposite. Autozone had the kit with (3) 13oz. bottles of a mix of r134 and the leak stuff, gauge built into the hose, and adapters for converting old cars. I hooked it up with the car running and air on, and when I slowly turned the lever back after...

Viper Bra for sale/rent near Kansas City?

I might be more worried about the bra scratching the paint. I wonder if you could line up someone in Kansas City to protect the front end the right way, with the clear 3M stuff.

Will the GEN I and II's fall apart???

Re: Will the GEN I and II\'s fall apart??? Our panels didn't line up from the factory. They aren't getting worse. Just drive. I've never had someone come up and talk about my misaligned panels. A lot of people say how sweet it is.

    Engine cleaning

The reason I'd stick to the sandpaper over steel wool is you can control the sandpaper when wrapped around a block of wood. If you move the block over the letters, you can keep the sandpaper off the red paint. With wool, it might be easy to slip onto the red. Reminder, get a rediculously how...

$12.60? Are you kidding me? I bought the Napa 180 thermostat and I think it was $36.

    R12 to 134a or ES-12a

I charged my 95 for the first time yesterday. I went to Autozone and they had the kit, normally $49 for only $30. It came with 3 bottles of freon, 13 oz. each. It is a mix of freon, leak sealer/detector, oil. It has hoses and a gauge, and adapters for the old cars in case you need it. Great...

    Engine cleaning

Simple Green on engine but it won't clean the Viper on the valve covers on a gen1-2. Extremely fine like 2000 grit, wet sandpaper, block of wood, masking tape just to be safe on red paint, makes them look new in 15 minutes. I don't know if gen3's are painted or not.

    HRE 546 and 546R differences

Mark, What this stepped lip really means is the regular series has a smaller inside rim. For instance, the 18" series has a 17" center, the stepped rim makes up the 1" difference. The R series is a 18" center and a near flat lip. Visually looks 100% larger and deeper.

GEN 1 Going in for head gaskets. Need advise! ! ! !

Scorch, I posted the entire process a few months ago, I did it myself and am about an hour from you. Not a hard job but it took a long time. do a search and see what is involved. Make sure the thermostat housing gasket and bolts get a light coating of RTV. Swap out thermostat to 180 degree...

is it normal to lose a pint or two of coolant a year?

ByteMe, This is what I meant. There are 3 transitions from rubber to metal and none are clamped. Upon cooling, coolant is drawn back into the main tank. If the connections have a air leak, it will draw air.

is it normal to lose a pint or two of coolant a year?

Check the level in the facia tank for it being too full. Common for them to draw air in the lines during cool down. After multiple cycles, eventually will get air in system and push fluid out facia tank when heating up. If your facia tank seems to fill up over time and eventually push fluid...

    OLD Headgaskets on Ebay

Viperrt96, Sounds like you made an informed decision you are comfortable with. You might want to ask your builder though. Does he know about the history of the crossover gaskets leaking and the thermostat bolts leaking? Did he RTV both when he installed? Easy to do now if your intake is...

    OLD Headgaskets on Ebay

I replaced the old style with new ones and there are many points that wouldn't make it so cost effective for someone to be dumb enough (or cheap enough) to reuse the old style. It's like night and day, Vette versus Viper, when looking at the two. First of all, the OEM complete gasket set is...
