I can't find in Service manual
- torque spec on coolant plugs?
- torque spec on 4 nuts for hood?
My intake bolts are a light grey color and the tips look crummy. What to repaint them with? VHT1500?
Have a few comments so far
1. Don't assume just disconnecting the electrical connections at the driver side terminal (where you jump start or hook battery tender) will do the same thing as disconnecting the battery.
2. Coolant plugs need to be removed. The 1995 will require you to remove the...
Mazman, We're talking a battery here, not transmission fluid or something. Why the heck even consider contacting the dealer and paying a rediculous price for a battery? It's just a battery. Get the correct amps and you're good. Buy the best technology.
When there is a 3/4 gap, the hood isn't latched.
First set rubber bumper correctly. Put a piece of paper on top of the rubber bumper near the headlight that touches. Shut the hood. See if you can pull out the piece of paper. If yes, the rubber bumper needs to be turned up and paper tested...
Buy the Optima Red Top, they make one with higher amps than another with the same size so make sure you pay the extra $10 to get the right one. Take it home, see if it fits, take a bottle jack and two pieces of wood and extend your tray an inch or so if needed, battery will slide right in...
You really aren't going to solve your problem until you get those cats out. Yours is a rear exhaust so you have many options to quiet the noise.
The Roe insulation will definitely help but you won't be fixed until they are gone. You will wish you did it a long time ago after you do.
Whatever you do, don't pay to have the clutch fluid changed. You do this with remaining brake fluid after you bleed the brakes. Turkey baster out old fluid in reservoir, take a drive, do it again.
I have a set of chrome intake tubes with red Matrix reducers for stock application in perfect condition, no scratches on chrome or on silicone. Had them on last year for 2K miles. Just want to try a different look. $75 plus shipping
Yes, same procedure for 2001. It even helps more if you jack up front passenger wheel. It gets the tank with radiator cap to be the highest point in the system.
Use the Motive Bleeder...a pressure bleeder like the Service Manual recommends...it rocks...cheap too, something like $50. Call Eric 877-592-7253...they make a specific cap for non-ABS Vipers too, it's the Ford 3 prong cap.
TroyRT10, Are you 100% sure the overflow tank in the front facia was empty? Not the surrogate tank with the radiator cap on it. Did you remove the tube going to it and blow into it to hear bubbles? Many confuse this with being empty because it is so darn hard to see the level even if you...
Mastiff, Follow all of these directions. If you miss a step you will be back here complaining about squeaking again. 1. Buy EBC Greens but switch them out of you go anywhere near a track 2. But VHT1500 black and paint anything green, tape off pad material 3. Buy Service Manual if you don't...
Magnet, Does the cap you bought from Jon fit your car (ABS)? If not, return it.
The universal cap on the Motive is fine but let me give some advice. Install it with no fluid in the bleeder. Turn the wingnuts just enough before the top starts to flex. Pressurize the tank 20psi and walk away...
