Do you really care what happens to your car when its sold?

I traded in my first Viper ('94 RT/10) when I bought the SRT Coupe. They put it in the show room with a huge price on it so it stayed there for a very long time. So, every time I took one of my other cars in for service I could visit with it, so to speak. There was a time when I almost bought it...

How many Vipers doing the Silver State Classic?

The events take place in and around Ely which is a small town about ?200 miles north of Vegas (check a map). You will be able to watch the 1 mile shoot out on Saturday and the 0 - 100 - 0 challenge on Friday, but the Silver State itself is not a spectator friendly event. Unless you are a course...

Group buy on Valentine 1 radar detectors?

I have two of them and would agree with all of the above praise. My first one was a few years old so I sent it in to be "updated". What I got in return was a brand new unit (thinner than my old one) and it cost $180 some dollars. It had 3 sets of suction cups, 2 or 3 wires, 2 visor mounts, etc...

How many Vipers doing the Silver State Classic?

Freddy, When I ran this event in 2004 there were cross winds up to 47 mph so they only let us do the 1/2 mile shootout. I ran it 4 times and could only get a little above 128 mph consistantly. I came in 6th place and was the fastest naturally aspirated car. The altitude sucked about 25% of the...

How many Vipers doing the Silver State Classic?

Fast Freddy, You were joking on the 0-200-0 challenge? That would be quite an event and would require a much longer road than is planned. It would be fun though! Let's suggest it to the planners and see what they say. I was initially going to run my SRT Coupe but decided instead on the '96 GTS...

How many Vipers doing the Silver State Classic?

I just received my confirmation packet for this event. I will be running in the 150 mph class with my son as navigator (over my wife's objection). Two others from Washington state are also running - one in the 130 class and one in the 110 class. I am also doing the 1 mile shoot out and the...

How important is a climate controlled garage?

My garage is insulated (2x6 constuction), sheet rocked and vinyl tiles on the floor. It has a furnace for the winter but no AC. This summer when it was above 90 degrees outside it was 70 inside. It was a great place to cool off. In the winter I set the thermostat between 50 and 60 degrees unless...

    MOPAR RACE EXHAUST

I did a baseline dyno on my '06 coupe with 700 mostly easy miles on it and pulled 434 hp and 465 torq. I was a bit disappointed at these numbers. I then installed the Mopar race exhaust, race engine controller and K&N intake system with a dyno run one week after the baseline above. Results...

Curious - Why do you have your Viper?

I have one for each purpose: The '96 GTS for track and speed The '02 FE as a garage queen The '06 for cruising, parades, etc. My attraction to the Viper followed this order: 1. Appearance 2. Performance 3. Exclusivity 4. Value (bang for the buck) Bob K

    Emblems are overrated

Not to hijack your thread, but what do you think of the Mopar race exhaust? It looks like the tips are chrome - did you put different tips on it? Do you like the sound? I have it on my SRTC and painted the tips black. The sound is not what I had hoped for and doesn't come close to my '96...

WASHINGTON / OREGON (PNW area) Convoy info.

Cody, Do you know if any of the Oregon people are doing the Silver State Classic? I believe 3 of us from WA are doing it. I have been going over all of the possible scenarios to get my car down there by the 13th, do the SSCC, leave my car there (? at a Vegas VCA member's house?), work the next...

Got 'er a little sideways today

Re: Got \'er a little sideways today I have many Viper miles under my belt including track time and a little drag racing, but the same thing happened to me a month ago. There is a winding slightly uphill road leading to my home and I always get on the Viper pretty heavy when traversing it. This...

What is it with some people....

I have had only two incidents in all of the years I have owned multiple Vipers. I came home from Barnes & Noble one night and found a huge loogy on top of my GTS. What is it about Barnes & Noble anyway? The second - I returned to my car one night to find the following note on the...

    Pilot Sport Cups

I have 315's on the front and 345's on the rear. I have been on the drag strip, the Texas Motor Speedway (VOI8) and the street with them. On the drag strip I sucked because I haven't learned how to launch but did a 12.4 even though I hit the rev limiter in both first and second gear. On the...

    315"s on front?

Re: 315 I have 315's on the front with HRE 10x18 rims and have had no problems. And yes, they are great on the track (Pilot Sport Cups). Bob K

Has anyone done the the p/s pump bracket yet?

I have had two friends locally have their power steering pulleys break in the past month. First was a supercharged and highly modified '96 GTS. The pulley shattered and left him stranded about a mile from my house. The second was an all stock '97 GTS with about 3,500 miles and no track or...

Best Sounding Aftermarket Exhaust on an 2006 SRT-10 Coupe???

I am interested to hear the responses to this question as well. I put the Mopar race exhaust (which is cat-less) on mine and am somewhat disappointed in the sound. Bob K

Does anyone have issues with their windows closing properly?

I am having the same problem as KaiSRT10. The driver side window does not retract so that when I close the door the glass hits the entire painted edge of the roof. So far no evidence of paint damage but it is a very annoying issue - that and the problem with the rear hatch latch not unlatching...

DC Please build a street version or anyone please build a kit for me!!!!!!!

Re: DC Please build a street version or anyone please build a kit for me!!! Actually, if I'm not mistaken, that picture is not the competition coupe but the GTSR concept car. That being said I will have to agree that Dodge would hit a home run if they built a street legal version of it. I saw...

    Yellow coupe with Autoform Splitter

How stable is it at speed? I've been to 165 with mine with no problem. It actually slips snugly over the bottom lip of the facia and attaches to the screws on the front edge of the wheel well. Bob K

    Yellow coupe with Autoform Splitter

I have one of these splitters on my '96 and I wish I had installed 3M on my front facia before attaching the splitter. Because the only attachment points are at the wheel wells the splitter can move up and down at the front. This movement causes paint to be rubbed at various contact points on...

To Badge or Not To Badge?

I say yes but I think black may be a bit too much on the pearl orange. I'm anxious to see pictures of this thing. Perhaps someone can photoshop different badge colors to see how they will look. Bob K
