Not Bad, I purchased it from Daves Viper Shop It took about a hour, I didn't even have to take out my airbox just disconnected the belt, one intake tube, bolts to the pump, pulled pump away from the bracket, switched bracket.
Mounted up perfect.
And a special Thanks to Jerry from the NE VCA for letting me know about this upgrade, If you ever need help Jerrys the man.

Under high belt tenions, the P/S bracket and pulley have been known to fail. You will be stuck along the side of the road until the flatbed comes to your rescue! Don't take the chance, replace them NOW! (mainly appies to the S/C cars) :2tu:

Did you upgrade the PS pulley while you were at it?

I didn't get the pulley yet and figured that is a little bit easier to do at a later date.
thanks for the heads up.

I'm with you. I'm going to do both just to be safe. An ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of cure! :smirk:

I did both recently, not a big job but took two people to do it without removing the pump hoses.

I have had two friends locally have their power steering pulleys break in the past month. First was a supercharged and highly modified '96 GTS. The pulley shattered and left him stranded about a mile from my house. The second was an all stock '97 GTS with about 3,500 miles and no track or aggressive driving. He was stranded along the freeway on the 4th of July evening. Try to find a flatbed then!

While my '96 was in for air conditioner service I had the Viper tech inspect mine. He said it looked fine but I am going to replaced it with a metal one. Would be bad to have this happen at 165mph! The parts manager at the dealership looked it up on his computer and discovered that there have been 194 inquiries per month on this part for '96 - '02 Vipers! In my book that would be grounds for a recall.
