True I just learned how it works. However, the numbered 1 of XX 2014s should end up being sought after gen V cars I think. Looks like orange 14s still sell around 88-92k on the used market.
Hmm this is news to me. I thought TA 1.0 was only in 2014? Are 2017 TA cars numbered? They didn't have numbered 1.0 in 2015 or 16 outside of the 2.0 correct? I'm confused how a 2017 true TA exists and it's not a 1.0 package as they were supposed to be limited production numbers. I'm actually...
The benefit of moding vipers in general far outweigh warranty risk. As long as recalls are done and cleared it's a good value proposition to open up the restricted potential of these cars. I'd say if one can spend about 100k on a car then replacing common parts or even a partial rebuild in a...
I know but the way he wrote it made me wonder if he has an actual TA that's the only one at dealers. If still think you could order the TA package for 2017 no problem on the configurator.
You know what I looked at your limited posts and see your 05 is classified as a theft car since it has a bunch of stolen parts on it and damage you don't even want to fix properly and you want the OP to use your information as a benchmark? That's sleezy. In the Viper community generally the...
True on the depreciation. I got crazy lucky trading in of all ways to sell, my 2015 stock Viper GT for a 14 stage ll heads and cam orange TA for nearly the same price. I got lucky the dealer didn't know TA nor what was under the hood and it's quality. OP consider going for 13-15. Plenty to be...
Give me a break. 25k and 26k. Gen 2 prices are low. But what you are quoting is salvage title or storied car low. If true I guess I sold my 2000 Acr just in the nick of time to hop in my 14 TA. OP, sometimes you do have to take a loss to make a gain. I just traded in my 15 original owner Viper...
Thanks everyone. I was thinking around 7K so I think I am in the ballpark. I know it's a very subjective decision but it's not an easy one. It is Winter now in Michigan basically so by the time I can drive again it will be year number 6 for this vehicle. This is one of the longest streaks I...
I really like the look of the anodized carbon gen V color and think it would look spectacular on my 2000 red ACR. The paint on my car could definitely use a professional detail and the side sills are a mess. Every time I keep thinking of selling and trading my car, I just don't find a good...
Depends on how badly you need to sell it. Hold out for what it's worth (33k) because it's clean and very well modded. A good buyer will pay the premium for a well sorted out car. For a quick sale then sell for 28K. Just my .02.
I don't find this true at all; especially over at corvette forums. I find they dig the Viper (though don't prefer it) more than viper owners dig corvettes. In Metro Detroit you see everything from vettes, porsches to lambos and Ferraris (Birmingham/Bloomfield/Royal Oak etc) and even lambo guys...
Yes I do have that magazine and was going to see how it compares. This is a bit different. It's also interesting to reference old posts from other viper sites from 2003 with many active members here posting their miles and usage. It appears many members used to drive the cars much more than...
I like the new Z06 however my problems with it are much simpler. I think the C6 Z is a much better looking car than the base C6; the wide body conversion really changes the look. The C7 Z06 will likely be 100k and that is in the territory of the Gen V Viper SRT. The viper is just so much more...
I made a post maybe about a year ago to see the mile counts of their vipers. I'm thinking I am going to track the following to get some stats (we all might find it interesting). I will need to know:
1. How many miles
2. What year
3. How long you have had the car
4. How many miles were on the...
I think it was already perfectly analazyed in an earlier post:
1. The buyer isn't getting the 5k garage queen nor looking for one so you may as well sell the best car you can. Repaint is better.
2. If you kept the car, in a matter of years, original everything (even imperfections) will fetch...
Good luck with sale. I really hope you get the asking price because that's really fair given the condition of it with it's history. The miles shouldn't knock down the value that much and it looks clean. I really wouldn't take ANYTHING under your asking price and I think you will get it even...
The ebay car is OK. 25-30k is about right for a clean gen I. I am assuming you realize the wheels of that car is stock so it's easy to have them. The problem I have with that car is that there are stres cracks on the hood; the most expensive part of the car. I'd pass on that on as well...
Mtclaughlin,
I highly suggest you begin right now to take emotions out of your purchase/search. There is noting to be worried about as you haven't moved forward. There is no reason to verify if it is a 94 or 95. It was totaled, my guess is the price is not being indicative of it being...
And we now are sounding like the mustang/civic crowd. The irony.
Most people buying 1 million dollar cars can afford those cars much better than the people buying the 100k viper. Fact.
"My 35k 2003 cobra with a KB, pulley, tune and headers is smoking Vipers."
"Well it's still just a...
I love tattoos and there is definitely a way to get a viper tattoo but go to an artist that is about 150.00 an hour. I have two sleeves myself and I am perfectly happy that they will look just FINE in 30 years. Good tattoos last a lifetime if you treat them right and some designs are timeless...
It's pretty easy to make a viper sound good. I'd say the new Gen V has a GREAT stock sound. The only car I like better sound wise is a V8 with a nice bassani X pipe mangaflow catback setup or something similar.
The ones that are well driven will likely be on the stock engine when the garage queens eventually get driven and have to have an Arrow rebuild. It's great to see these cars really driven. By the time these cars are "worth money" then they likely will have been repainted and rebuilt motors...
