official repair manual for 2008 viper

It's been frustrating for years getting and '08 and up service manual and looking at this thread it isn't getting any better. I still use my hardcover '06 manual, it's a good resource since so much of the Gen IV's are the same.

Value of Stoptech or ACR front 2 piece rotors?

Not sure if your wondering how much the front stop techs are worth or if your selling the entire set up? those rotors are $750-$800 new, and the replacemnet rings minus the hats are $500. Your's with the hats used, $400-$500 a pair?

    Mopar Performance Venom ECU Q's

Tim, there a a number of threads on the board regarding the vemom ecu. I see Steve M gave you some of them. To your questions; Mark says you can try and send used one to mopar so your vin can get reprogramed. I'd verify that with dodge as well as what the charge would be before you buy a...

    Lights after hard acceleration

Mark, thanks for joining in. Not sure if you remember working with Dan C fix mine. First time he fixed the miss and backfire, turned out the replacement cam sensor was bad (as you mentioned above) and finally worked with the second sensor. But down the road the issues came back (always at...

    Lights after hard acceleration

Is it still in the shop because after the new cam sensor and a check of the wiring it still has an issue? Hopefully the PCM will fix. If not, have them touch base w/Mark or Dan. In my case and with Utahvipers car, the ultimate fix was replacing some or all of the wiring harness.

American Le Mans Series 12 hours of Sebring race just started on Speed channel

No, but it certainly helps them. Much more sophisticated then street car versions, outlawed in some series (NASCAR for one). Vipers looked good, especially the 91. They will be very competitive this season!!!!!

    Lights after hard acceleration

John I dug up my first post when it happpened to me in 2009, in reviewing it the guy I mentioned above was in Utah, "Utahviper" not CO (see thread). http://forums.viperclub.org/threads/627066-Gen-IV-ECU-Issue?highlight=backfire

    Lights after hard acceleration

John, I hope it's simple for you. A couple of my Gen IV track buddies always have cam sensor spares with them. Not sure why they fail but they do. If it turns out to be more of an issue reach out to Dan, he and Mark, talked a bunch about my problems and ultimately they decided to replace both...

    Lights after hard acceleration

MtnBiker, I had a number of similar issues in my '08. Seems like it all started after the first time I hit the rev limiter on the track. Went into limp mode, shut it off them it seemed OK. Then it started having backfires and a loss of power at 5100-5300 rpm. We thought it might be the mopar...

Differences in drving Gen3 to Gen4

You can look up alll the changes between the two, basically more HP/TRQ, improved trans, rear end, and clutch, tires maybe a few more? As for driving; clutch is different, lighter and engages differently, some people stall it when they first drive it. Shifter linkage travel is reduced, (much...

Headers and cats WITHOUT Mopar PCM question?

I'm dreading my first CA smog test, probably will come this November, then it's every other year after that. As Mark J said it won't pass with a CEL. Do a search on the board, swap out the ecu, get the code cleared than have the original ecu re-learn. Seems like you'll need to drive about 50...

Headers and cats WITHOUT Mopar PCM question?

When I first added headers I didn't have the mopar ECU. Going that route the CEL is when, not if.

    Tyres

Neil, while that '09 ACR is new to you, tires could be 4 or 5 years old plus a number of heat cycles. Those pilot cups are good when new but they definately don't like cold weather. You can stay stock size wheels try the new Michelin Pilot Super sports, not as good as a track tire but good all...

New member's/non-owner's/prospective buyer's take on the Gen V

Bruce, for what your looking for the new Gen V will fit the bill. Exclusive, fast and the interior is much improved. To your comments the "viper wants to kill you", you have to respect the amount of torque, if you don't the rear end will come around. Drivers with 300 hp experience who don't...

    MCS new product poll

Mark, running Moton's so not looking at a change. I think there is a market there for the enthusiast that wants some better handling and/or a lower ride height Today the lower cost route is spring caps or KW2's. The KW's provide a decent ride/handling improvement but their not set up to...
