Yesterday's Automotive News reports that 35 vipers have been built through Saturday 2/16/13. Looks like production stated after 2/1/13 and it also says 12 were built last week.
Your factory headers only fit the Gen IV's. Gen III guys buy the cat back exhaust (Gen IV) as it is a direct fit and eliminates the crossover pipes. I'd keep them, never know if you want to go back to sell and/or sell your viper. Good luck, Mike
Indy, like others have said, the logos are stick on and the bumper is already painted. Before you take them off, take a look at the pricing for new ones if you change your mind, depending on color they can be pricey. The letters are individual and if you buy a new set then are placed on...
Swexlin, until Dan produced the modified G4 version, you had to buy the comp coupe pan if you wanted to upgrade your G3. Dan can explain the difference (and his upgrades) between the two pans, his pan is better than the comp coupe pan.
Treesnake, sorry to hear of your mechancial issues. I'm hoping that you didn't bang up your viper or get hurt! Looked at the Mike Skeen video, Track and facility looked real nice, but surprised how much 2nd gear is needed and maybe 10 seconds plus per lap in 4th. Gotta believe you can go...
From today's Automotive News;
Automotive News -- February 4, 2013 - 12:01 am ET
DETROIT -- Chrysler Group's two smallest brands -- Fiat and SRT -- have nearly filled out their dealership rosters in the United States.
Ralph Gilles, who heads the automaker's SRT brand, said 430 Chrysler Group...
Jack, at last summers event, with the 92 db rule (that requires you to lift in straight between 5 and 6, or get tossed)
The Laguna Seca did 1:34.1 (headers, exhaust, hoosiers)
The '10 Aero coupe did 1:36.5 (stop techs, hoosiers, stock motor and suspension)
With good weather like last year...
What's you definition on "no wheres near"? I'll be there with a number of SoCal members 6/28-30 at a rare day at LS. They'll lift the sound limit for an HPDE event from 92 db to 105 db, like they allow the manufactures and magazines. Come out and see what those old Gen IV's can do in the...
Viper Tony, real good post, Ralph got caught off guard by the results which is suprising as the spec's on the cars are a dead heat and like it or not you have to give the tire and brake advantage to the vette. I'm not a fan of the arrogant Randy Probst but he's a good driver and I don't beleive...
This morning Sergio announced Chrysler's revised 5-year product plans which includes a number of number of new Fiat's and Alfa products coming to the US. In the brand review for SRT, it referenced Viper;
SRT: Chrysler Group's performance brand won't get another new vehicle in its lineup until...
Mike, Best wishes at COTA and looking forward to seeing the video.
Tell your video guy we're all impressed at a one man show! Viewed and scanned a number of the other ones you have on you-tube, all great work.
When you get out here next fall bring him along, I could use some tutorial help...
Real nice Mike, looked like great fun running with that X car. How many employees do you have in your video production company?? Best wishes and come West. Mike
red06, congrats on your new viper! "Special vehicles" could be an auto show car, or a SRT Experience-Skip Barber car. Since you have a dealer friend that can run the vin in the Chrysler system, check to see where it was shipped to and who did the dealer prep. If it was prepped in MI probably...
JMT, I had a red/silver '06 that ended up near you. does your viper have an '08 hood?? If so send me a pm, lot's of extras are on it besides the exhaust and rear gears. Mike
