What tires do you use on the street?

I'm gonna throw in my 2cents worth on this very important subject. To start with a drag radial is the best straight line traction tire made, and BFG rules in this department. What many people are not aware of is the compounds in the tire are lost after each burnout, or in the case of the...

    SRT Battery Cover, Info Please!

Rick, I've been there twice now. Those bolts are hell to remove. The reason they are this way is to prevent them from coming loose. If they were standard design, they would not stay in there. That part of the car flexes a great deal and being a flat surface as it is, they would come loose. This...

My Crankshaft Damper Bolt was falling out.

Kai, the 04's do in fact use a different torque spec. I went through this problem, last year. The 03 and 04 do have different specs, for sure. Much has been said on this subject. I would remint the dealer about this major difference in torque specs, as they may not be aware of it. Kai...

So, you want even MORE flow than a Random Technology Cat huh?

Hay Daniel, since you have both cats out, have you measured how deep the honycomb block is in each cat, and how is the veiw looking through them. Is one more obscured than the other.

So, you want even MORE flow than a Random Technology Cat huh?

I say ditch the sec. cat's leave the primary's alone. Or go catless all the way. Trying to weld in the RT's is not so easy. I do like the primary pipe, and factory flex joint conected to it. This is really hard to subsitute. Danniel is correct about the Rt's. They are just to small to flow as...

    SRT-10 lifters problems

PTeam, by the way, I never heard of roller lifters acting this way. Are they saying several lifters are collapsing, and then they occasionally pump back up. Strange, I've not heard of this. An occasional sticking lifter. They will have an annoying tapping sound, and can actually stick enough to...

    SRT-10 lifters problems

Pteam, I'll bet there are some great aftermarket lifters out there for this car. There is a chance those lifters are used on other engines. No real performance thing about factory lifters. I'm willing to bet the lifters are on the market. Since they are roller lifters they are fairly expensive...

    Quaife Differential - Opinions Please

Jay, no Detroit Tru Track available for the SRT yet. No way you want to upgrade the posi, as this would cost to much, and I can tell you one thing for sure. The posi, can't even come in the shawdows of a torque biasing setup.

My SRT10 Woes -- I have the Aldan Shocks and this is sucking

Manny I've gave up on Aldan. The coilovers you have are to long, and that's why you can't adj. them down, or you would loose to much piston travel. I've been there before, and many others have also. I wish Motons were not so over priced. I'm mean really, $4,000.00 for a set of shocks and...

    Octane booster question

Amsoil makes one of the best on the market. To add one can to 15 gallons of premium, it will actually only raise you up one point, but adding the same amount to 15 gallons of regular, will raise you 3-5 points. This is what the tech dept. at Amsoil told me. It is most effective when added to...

    K&N Filter Test

Now that's the kind of stuff I like. K&N seems to flow well, but passes more dirt, and builds up more dirt into the filter. Flow then is disrupted badly. No blowing out the K&N occasionally as you would pleated paper. I say keep the K&N clean, change oil a bit more onften, as...

What spring rates do you run with Motons?

Kai, the oem's are very progressive, and are 200lb for the first inch, and rise to around 1000lb This is not an idicator of spring rate on the short springs that are not so prgressive. The oem springs are very long, and lousy. The improvement you will have by going to the rate I mentioned is a...

    I think I'm sick!

Re: I think I\'m sick! Your gonna burn out if you don't take it easy. Kinda like going to Six Flags every day for 2 months. Yo gotta yin and yang, and it looks like your fixin to do that. Have fun on your trip. Let that car rest. I'm on my 8th Viper, and I remember that first one. Same story as...

What spring rates do you run with Motons?

The SRT's oem spring rate is very strange. I had the rears tested, and they are very low lb rate for the first inch or so, and they become a very high rate as they are compessed. The SRT shock's are valved extremely stiff on the compression. Moton's or Aldans are nothing like this, and they opt...

What spring rates do you run with Motons?

I must say from trial and error, the 700's in the front, and 800 in the rear is the ticket. Never go below this in my opinion. As far as the best springs in the world, Hyperco first choice, no doubt, Eibach second. If you plan to track the car, I guess a bit more, but for street the above...

    Possible EBay scam

I'm sure he's has a freind to bid the car up, but then again, he's a zero score seller, and it's his first time, so he may have forgot to put a reserve on the car.

    520HP AND 200 MPH

I'll tell you this much. What ever the Bently doe's top out at, I'll bet it takes forever to reach it. I could care less about top speed if you need the Salt Flats to acheive it. The Bently is so heavy. It's got to take forever for it to accelerate to that speed, if it can even get to it...

    Anyone tried these tires?

There sizes are to small in diameter, width, or there to tall. Not even close. To bad, because they would be a great tire. I'm getting a set for my S-10 Pro Street truck, as they will be perfect for it. I have the bias ply Sportsmans now. Skip White

    Using the clutch

WD the reason you are getting varied responses on this, is not every Viper clutch is disengaging at the same spot. Best to go into where it's easy to shift. That's all that's required. The best indicator of what's right is ease of shifting. No need to go all the way, if the gears just drop right...

    RSI feedback

Besides the RSI issue, the value of this car that Herc is looking at, considering it's two and a half years old. I would think it not even close to what it cost for this upgrade. I'm inclined to think it's of very little value. I would value the wheels if they are in perfect condition. I would...

    RSI feedback

Spring cutting is wrong not only because the lack of piston travel, but the first few inches on most springs has a different rate. This just can't be done to springs, especially on a car that has limited piston travel. You would think they know this.

Crossovers; what are they good for?

Chuck wins this one all the way, and jwwiii is somewhat correct. The tone is not deeper at all with the X-over on the car, but it doe's have a great pulse to it. X-over's need to be in the hot zone of the exhaust pipe to create a scavenging effect. This is about one foot past the...

    SRT 10 lowering

Cutting the springs or using shorter springs is insane to say the least. The coilovers are have very little piston travel as it is, and this would surely destroy them. This is 100 for sure. Next Gen Aldan coilovers will be a winner. I'm just not going to use there springs anymore. Skip White
