Yea no offense intended. I've never seen our dynojet do that, only reason I asked. I am in the measurements field for a living and just surprised to see such a regular wavelength/amplitude on a dyno. Looks like a shielding or loose connection issue; that or some sort of interference.
No weight yet, I haven't bought scales yet although I definitely should. I don't even have a weight on my Cobra and I'd be much more curious about it than the Viper.
That's some major aliasing going on in that dyno. What's up with the readout?
Also, at 12.44 AFR are you all motor? It's OK to run that high, but I like to see the boosted cars closer to 11.8 or so. All preference I guess.
Precisely, yet our cars come with ash trays.
I don't see harm at all in someone drinking in a car. I use the "Not a cupholder" for my waterbottles almost every time I drive the car.
I don't seem to find the harm in it either.
So it's sacreligious to have a cupholder in a car, but it's ok to smoke in it?
I think you're all nuts. There have been plenty of road trips in my car where I'll need water on the way.
And... if it's not a cup holder, it's a great bottle holder while tuning:
Actually I should still have it. Send me a PM with your email and I'll see if I have it on our server, then I can make the overlay at work and not have to rely on one of the guys to send it to me via email.
That is correct; HP was increased by approximately 1, or 0.2%. There was a slight increase in torque however.
Exhaust, without high flow cats or cat deletes, rarely yields a significant horsepower gain on a car with a good stock exhaust system. We notice the same thing with Z06s, LX...
Thanks! If a person local to me has an '08+ Viper, I'd love to get you on our dyno and see what it lays down up here so I can make that overlay.
Let me know if you're interested. We can make cool graphs like this:
The Viper actually made more power until 100mph.... and then the turbo...
Oh and if any GenIV guys have their drf run file, Id love to overlay my bolt on/tuned curves with a stock 8.4 and see how much more us GenIII guys need under the curve.
I did it in house. Tuning is easy...especially when your buddy is a well known tuner and you have a dyno.
Car was relatively easy to tune, especially compared to my Cobra!
Thanks all. Get me a few cams and Ill do a comparison test...:D
Having a dyno at your disposal has a few advantages, one of which being unlimited time to play around and see what yields the most power. So we got to messing with my '05 Viper with 9400 miles.
Started out by picking up a K&N Intake, Corsa exhaust and an SCT Handheld/ProRacerPackage. Total...
I went ahead and put the K&N and Corsa on the car today to make up for yesterday. Tuned it too.
Baseline of 443/481 up to 472/517. Ill post up details tomorrow with graphs. Tuned it stock, then added intake on stock tune, tuned it with intake and then tuned with exhaust. Nice to have a dyno. :)
Yea Steve, nice to meet you. It's terrible that it just rained out of no where and the cars got filthy.
We'll do this some other time and hopefully it won't rain.
Just letting everyone know that a few friends and I will be heading down to the dragstrip for opening night tomorrow. With the weather forecast being favorable, I figured it's a great time to get some friends together and take the cars out after hibernation.
Let me know if you want to cruise...
No. Not on a missed shift, the engine would need power to accelerate to a faster rpm. No power is available above the rev limiter as spark is cut.
On an accidental down shift it is possible as there is a mechanical link making the motor match the drivetrain/gear speed.
