I thought the same thing before I even saw this post.

For me it was the extra $400 price tag and nothing else.

    CalChrome Before/After Pics

Who needs to spend $5000 on aftermarket wheels to be a baller? These pics were taken in the same spot, with the same light, and the same camera. BEFORE AFTER (excuse the rust on the rotor. Car was washed while wheels were away)

GREAT NEWS for Viper (and our Pres. gets interviewed)

I think that's what's going on here. You practically give the cars away and then brag about how many you sold. Back in March 2000 I bought a 2001 Dodge Ram. Yep - you read that right. A 2001 Ram in March of 2000. Dodge just used smoke and mirrors that year because they wanted to be the...

    CalChrome results

$276.00 to get them there from Maryland via FedEx ground. $300.00 to get them back to Maryland via UPS ground (this is what CalChrome told me to give them for return shipping. Have no idea what it really cost them.).

Wait till you see the before/after and you'll see how hazy these 10 spokes were after 4 years.

    CalChrome results

Wheels just got back from CalChrome. I'll post some good before/after pics mounted on the car in a few days. I opted not to get a full polish of the inside barrels. Woulda been an extra $400.

    White vs. Red vs. Yellow

I wanted white but "settled" for yellow. Now that I have it, I wouldn't buy any other color. The reason I don't have a 2008 or 2009 - no yellow.

Drag Radial and inexpensive rear rims

SSR rear wheels for Vipers are 18x13. The tires came mounted and balanced when I bought them from JonB. They are still mounted. They are the same wheels discussed in this thread. http://forums.viperclub.org/new-products-supplier-specials/619256-wait-over-ssr-wheels-stock-under-2550-set.html

Drag Radial and inexpensive rear rims

What do you consider inexpensive? My stock wheels are on the way back from CalChome. Once they get back and test out OK, I'll be on Ebay selling these SSR wheels WITH the BFG drag radials for a no-haggle price of $700. I won't split up the tires and wheels. The tires are still soft and...

    Cleaning back side of wheels

Removing the wheels without chipping the paint on the calipers or nicking the barrel of the wheel takes effort.

    Cleaning back side of wheels

I use this. Works good for keeping the barrels of the wheel clean. Obviously it won't reach the inside lip.

    Rear end help

Sounds reasonable. Service manual does say squat. Just says "drain fluid" but doesn't say which hole or if it makes a difference.

    Rear end help

Just wondering why there are 2 drain plugs on the bottom of the rear.

    Jack stand location

My car is jacked up while my wheels are at CalCrome. I have my drag radials on the back. The front frame was way too low for jack stands. I bought a long section of 2x10 lumber and cut it into pieces about a foot long. I placed them under the frame just inside the wheel well. The piece on...

    Chrome vs. Polished 10 spokes...

I could have sworn that your silver SRT-10 already had chrome wheels. If not you, then someone else on here with a silver car posted pics of chrome 10 spokes a while back. I think the difference is hard to tell from pictures or from a distance. My hazy-ass stock 10 spokes looked nice and...

How long are your OE Michelin ZPs lasting?

I have 24K on mine. Still look new. On my durometer however, they read an 82 which is just slightly softer than a hockey puck.

How to change brake rotors and pads?

Here's the comprehensive list of tools needed for SRT-10 brake and rotor removal. - 5/32" pin punch - for knocking out caliper pins - Hammer - for banging on pin punch (also for banging on the back of rotor to free it from hub) - Small block of wood to place between rotor and hammer when...

How to change brake rotors and pads?

You will need to have a 6mm hex key to remove the top e-brake caliper bolt. I had to run out and buy one midway thru my de-install. The red calipers also remove with a hex key (large one) but I can't remember what size.

    New wheel bearing assemblies

Has anyone ever changed wheel bearing assemblies on the rear of an SRT-10. The service manual talks about having to pull apart half the rear suspension using all kinds of special "Viper tools" and such (screw that). Looking at them however, it looks like all you would need to do is remove the...

    5 spokes to CalChrome

I shipped mine with the tires on the wheels in accordance with their direction. They will dismount and remount prior to shipping back. To package everything I cut out round pieces of cardboard "large disks". I taped 2 disks (for extra thickness) to each side of the tires/wheels to cover the...

    5 spokes to CalChrome

I've been pondering the change for a long time because of the dreaded clearcoat hazing. I'm expecting major bling as a result of the chroming and the stock 10 spokes are just about my favorite Viper wheel including aftermarket. I think most of the dislike of the 10 spoke is simply because...
