How many people will sell there Gen 3 For The 08 Coupe?

I will not be buying the '08. I am PERFECTLY pleased with my '04 that I've had 18 months and driven 16,xxx miles. It is warranted until 2012 unless I exceed 70,000 miles before then. More power is great, especially since it is made mostly with revs making the new Viper not much less probable...

Buying a Viper in the next week (Need input from viper owners)

I agree. A low mileage Viper with warranty (that is it has a clear, non salvage title) should look like new. The tires should be original at that low a mileage, in the rear there should be about half the tread of the fronts. I saw a used 8000 mile SRT-10 Viper go for $49,300 on eBay recently...

Ran over a sewer at gas station.........

I think that you will NEVER get any money due to grounding out at their establishment. That is certailnly true if you have lowered your car AT ALL. Maybe if you have VERY goofy juries or judges you'd have a chance. A business can't be expected to allow for someone who lowers his ride. I even...

This looks like a great deal.............

Not too bad, but the best I have seen was for red '03 (or '04) with about 8000 miles that sold on EBay for $49,300!!! It was a no reserve auction with only a few bidders. It had a clear title and looked flawless. The buyer gave positive feedback that he got a great car at a great price - I...

    VCA "Last Ram SRT-10" Raffle

Re: VCA \"Last Ram SRT-10\" Raffle The 4 Door SRT-10 Truck is automatic only - absolutely no interest from me!!! You'd have thought the last one built would have been the 2 door stick!!!

Now I know how you northerners must feel....

It is VERY tough!!! It does allow one to catch up on other projects: Add PS to my '69 Corvette Fix dead '74 Suzuki TS250 (no compression, bent shift shaft) Rebuild '68 Impala Carb I will add however that just seeing that bueatiful red SRT-10 convertible sitting near my other 3 classic...

    Viper Test Drive experience

My test drive experience was a lot different and led me to buy a new SRT-4 Convertible: (I was 50 when I bought my Viper) The door sill was so high and so wide. True, but so what? It took some effort to climb in and out of the car. True, but I am not remotely athletic and feel it is...

    Gas fill up problem

Same here. Sometimes it takes a time or two get the nozzle aligned right, but once set it will take fuel as fast as any pump I've found can deliver. Also, once it shuts off, there is NO NEED to try to fill it further!!

hard wire mirror for valentine one ???

I used standard connectors to avoid cutting, splicing, or 3M clipping ANY wires for my installation. I made up a wedge that took power from the console lighter input plug, provided the leads for the V1, and then provided new leads to the lighter. I try not to ever scar the wiring. I have...

    Break-In Time

If you don't KNOW the car was NEVER run for short times in that 291 miles I would change the oil. If an engine is run for a minimum of a half hour at a time (not counting idling) there shouldn't be me any corrosive combustion byproducts in the oil....

Any clutch pedal adjustment kits for SRT's?

Re: Any clutch pedal adjustment kits for SRT\'s? While I wouldn't bypass the clutch safety switch on my Viper, I've heard many guys being against having "Nanny Systems" on their and future Vipers. This switch would seem to qualitfy as such a system. I like not having "Nanny Systems" from the...

Who drives there Viper year round? Also mileage?

Re: Who drives their Viper year round? Also mileage? I bought my '04 in June 05 and have driven it 15,800 miles. I don't drive it every day and will not subject it to salt. I do drive it often and have made one cross country trip (IA to NH). I love my car and it is still the hottest...

    Break-In Time

Break in is required due to building to tight tolerances, not loose ones. While lengthy break in is not required on modern engines, it doesn't hurt to polish or bed in parts that run together. Now, I see a lot of people still change their oil at 600 miles, which is not recommended by any major...

    Anyone see the new Motortrend?

While I don't really care what the magazines say, I am AMAZED these guys are such pansies!! I drove no PS, no AC Corvettes happily since '76 and enjoyed every mile - admittedly some were pretty hot, but that's the way the sun is in the summer. The SRT-10 is a fine daily driver. Ingress and...

HP/Weight Ratio to be limited by the government?

While possible, I hope not. The government hasn't limited the power to weight ratios on motorcycles which have higher ratios and are obviously much more hazardous to their operators.

    A BLACK DAY HAS COME!

Re: A BLACK DAY HAS COME! No More VIPERS! I wouldn't car if everyone drove a Viper as long as I was getting as much fun out of mine as I am getting. If driving something relatively rare or unique is your goal, I've found when I'm over 1000 miles from home (say in anywhere in New England with...

    2005 Viper too cheap

A black 2003 with under 8800 miles sold for $49,301 on eBay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayIS...359892&rd=1,1 The BUYER gave positive feedback so I'm betting he actually got the car. I'm not selling so the low values don't bother me. I don't understand why ANYONE would buy a used...

The real reason I prefer Viper over Vette

I saw a new Viper sitting outside in NH two years ago. That dealer was willing to let me test drive the car, which placed me on the track for buying my SRT-10. I simply ENJOY my Viper and wouldn't care if every car on the road was a Viper..

What if DCX sized down the body of the 08 like the C6?

EXACTLY!!! Someone noted that a SRT-10 is shorter than a 911. It takes space to house a axial (normal, not transverse) V-10. Lighter is better, but remember that a 427 C6 in a chassis stiff enough for a convertible with Z06 Brakes would weigh MORE than the CURRENT Viper (based on GM's weight...

Coupe vs Vert... pros and cons...

A convertible is the only way to go if you are driving the car for pleasure. Also, why you think the couple gives you any REAL protection is a rollover? If you roll at "Viper" speeds you need a NASCAR roll cage to do you any good. Just because most track's rules say you need a coupe to run...

    Thoughts on possible purchase.....

While a decent deal, there are people buying new ones for that price or VERY close to it. A new one makes you its ONLY first owner and provides a transferable warranty should you decide to sell it.
