Actually a blow out is a distinct possibility...on old tires, keep your speed in check
Now are the tires 7 years since they were made or are they the original tires that came with your car (are possibly 8 years or more in age)?
I believe there will be very little discounting on 2010 ACRs -- "Invoice" (~$5000 off) is probably the closest you'll get.
An average this year of 35 Vipers are sold each month (with the actual monthly number being larger in the past few months), five more months puts your choice down by...
One more consideration..the Gen V ACR will likely be a MUCH HIGHER PRICED car than the ACR you can buy today.
The Gen V ACR will likely be more than $120,000 and if they put a lot of carbon fiber into its "skin" that price goes to $200,000 or more.
Don't forget that in your considerations of...
2+ years is a long way off, one thing is for sure, there will not be any new 2009/2010 ACRs around in two years:
www.media.chrysler.com/newsrelease.do?id=9401
Over 313 Vipers have been sold so far this year (on track for 450 or so for the year), and with last year's total of 348 (worst year...
FWIW
The initial Gen V will be *coupe only*
that means no roadster, no acr
total Gen IV ACR production, somewhere south of 800 units....that's gotta be good for business!
Tomball's pricing is good, just call and ask for Bernie Katz, tell him what you want and he'll tell you what he has...and I think all of Bernie's 2009 ACR's are being discounted
If you are a VCA member (I know you are hou99) here is a thread started a while back for comments for Gen V
http://forums.viperclub.org/grail-trail/634947-what-must-fixed-next-viper.html
(of course it has nothing to do with the looks of the model shown at VOI, but lots of input there that...
I asked the same in a different thread and was told "no"...not like that
It seems this new Viper might be a little further out than 2012 model year, a bit optimistic to bring a car from the "full size model" stage to production in one year.
You mean "literally" the car under the cover was a production Ferrari
or do you mean when unveiled instead of a GenV Viper the car they showed looked more like a Ferrari?
(were you there?)
thx
Hmm, get's ya thinking of what is going on...
Theory:
Somebody at Dodge wanted to show a mockup of the 2012 to the faithful (VOI) so they had to hurry up...
But, they could not risk stepping on the toes of the "ones who bring them" (the dealers) so they had to be shown first
Solution...
Not sure if this applies here, but you might call the tire manufacturer and find out the latest production cycle for those tires.
I know for a fact that Michelin has gaps lasting a year or so between runs of some tire sizes. So 25 month old tires might be about the best you can do right now....
I have no problem running the buckles through the seat back holes, you do have to turn them sideways a little and maybe a jiggle but then they slide through no problem.
Response from today:
Thank you for contacting Chrysler Tech Authority.
Unfortunately, Service Manuals for the 2009 Dodge Viper are not available with no further information about the ETA of this item.
Please call us at 1-800-890-4038, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m...
After a few times thru the vid, my thoughts:
Looks like you were pretty consistent with the brake and throttle (as compared to previous times thru that corner) but this time your tires need more grip, though you braked the same you went back to an even throttle (as you were doing previously)...
Actually not true for my Diablo (owned for 14 years).
Remember, it is a dry sump system so it takes 16 quarts.. I buy Agip SINT-2000 oil directly (by the case) and it is only $70 (includes shipping) plus a filter ($10) and your time. If you take it to a dealer they will mark up the price of...
that's right, bring on a USA STREET LEGAL, completely unmodified powertrain and unmodified suspension car that beats the Viper in the Ring
(crickets)
