You have to take off the intake manifold to get to get to the ignition coils. You don’t actually have to completely remove the intake but you will have to remove all the bolts and lift it up so you can reach under and unplug the wires. First time it took me at least an hour to remove the...
I drive my car very hard, at least 30 track days and 20K miles on my Paxton. I pulled my motor over X-Mas and it was in pristine condition, it looked like brand new. That’s impressive. That gave me the confidence to go for my mega build. I would with out any hesitation put that Paxton in and...
Hold on little fella, no need to get rude. :nono: I realize it took you 3 days to formulate a response my post, but in the meantime the situation was resolved.
This is a driving school club event, they only require 3 point seat belts, (that’s a standard seat belts to you). Safety is very...
Don’t give up!! I have tracked with many different clubs and have never observed club being that strict. Don’t ignore my suggestion on you body position either, depending how I adjust my seat and my body and how tight I do my harness, I can touch the top or have more than 3” of clearance, I’m...
file, drill, box cutter, basically clear out any flashing mold parting lines sharp edges etc. results will vary
I like the blah, blah on yours, LOL, I think I might start using that.
The noise you are hearing is the air rushing through the idle air control motor, which is the 3/4" hose on the passenger side connecting the throttle body to the K&N plastic. If you smooth out the inlet on the K&N, you can alter the noise to your liking. It is only used at idle.
Pictures and a measurement are a two man job, much easier solution. Just scrunch down in the seat if some club nazi is actually going to take a measurement. Just from eyeballing the height of my bar it should be fine. You can always get a seat lowering kit too.
Viper X has good points again. This notion that run flats are crap and that this other tire is 10 times better just isn’t so. All these tires are $300+ tires, none of them are crap. They are all the best of every manufacturer, they are all very close. I have run flats, non run flats, Michelin...
Viper X has some very good points and I will have to agree with his comments about smelling gas with no Cats. I think I will last another month or so with this set up before going back with Cats and it's all fun
Let’s see, headers + no cats + 5 feet straight pipe + unburned gas = flames baby. The problem is that the pipes go out sideways, so as you are moving, the wind blows the very hot air/flame right against the side of the car. The panels are aluminum so they take the heat very well but the paint...
I just recently changed out my stock headers/Random Cats/Corsa exhaust with Belanger headers/Corsa and no cats and it’s a lot louder. I concur w/ Jr.& Kia. This is a very personal thing, it is almost too loud for me. Sounds fantastic and at the track it sounds even better. Then there are...
Race pads squeak! They are not made for light street braking. They do there work when they are hot and they will never get hot on the street. Put your old pads back on and the squeaking stop. Plus leaving your race pads on for the street will wear your rotors out faster and plenty of dust. I...
Check under rear wheels. Possibly a C6Z06 you ran over......... :2tu:
Great suggestion, I went and looked and found 3 Z06’s, two Supras, 1 WRX Sti’s, a Mustang Saleen and crotch rocket. Sounds much better now.
Mine has always made the noise you are describing. It concerned me too so I called Paxton on it and they said they all make slight different noises. I have 30K miles on mine with no issues at all, so I stopped worrying about a while back.
Your very close to my numbers. How about that power, hey. Unreal or what, damn the thing just keeps wanting to go and go. I thought the stock Viper was fast, then I thought the stock Paxton was fast and now, holly @#$!%&. We need to start an 850 club. Let’s match them up at Viper Days in...
Re: I am not worthy of 12 psi of boost (pics)
Thanks again,
You right, the stock injectors spit out every bit of gas when it tops out at 650RWHP. I have 60# injectors, (twice stock), so I have plenty of gas at my disposal. So when I get the hang of this power setting, (800HP+) I can change a...
Interesting write up on their website, especially the one about why they are not SFI certified – Hmmmm. If you look at HANS, just about every racing body is certifying it. Hmmmm. I use the HANs, took me a couple of runs before I got the hang of using it. Now I would not drive on the track...
go get a Sirius antenn, they have ones that are about half the size of a business card. It has only one wire connection to the tunner, works the same as the one you have, but much smaller.
Re: I am not worthy of 12 psi of boost (pics)
Thanks, I did all the work. No other human has touched this car since it left the factory (except of course my shop helpers or maybe a better term would be drink mixers)
Trying to get to the dyno this week, still more tuning to do.
