We've got 7 Vipers plus one other car so far. There's still room for a few more.
I thought that starting from Winchester would work out well for those coming from points west (Ohio, WV). Those of us in the northern Virginia area will come out through Leesburg, so we can easily pick up Leslie...
The VA-MD VCA Fall Foliage Tour will be held Saturday-Sunday, October 29-30. Lousy weather and a scarcity of hotel rooms caused us to reschedule this event from the weekend of October 8-9. Join us for a two-day tour over some great roads and through some very scenic countryside. If you have a...
If you take the Fairfax County Parkway south toward Fairfax, you turn right on Fair Lakes Drive just before the Parkway hits Route 66. Logan's Steak House is a little tricky to get to, but I think I can put some directions together.
I've noticed that the cockpit heat is much less now that I'm not sitting in 90+ degree, high humidity weather. I wouldn't discount the outside temperature as a possible reason for the drop.
3.55's definitely wake the car up. Expect a little more noise (but you'll hear it only with the top and windows up) and a little worse gas mileage. Regardless, you will not regret installing them.
I recently sold mine for just under $3000. I sold the wheels with the tires and tire pressure sensors, figuring that to break the seal to remove the pressure sensors was just setting up an opportunity for the tire guy to scratch or otherwise screw up a wheel. If you plan to put sensors in your...
I'm in, rain or shine. I'd prefer somewhere other than Hooters -- their food is exceptionally bad. How about Don Pablos or Logans at the Fair Lakes Center?
Re: \'06 SRT Coupe w/ 2700 Miles is HOME!
Jon,
That is truly the way to break in a car! Congratulations on your new Viper, and thanks for sharing your experience with us!
Here's the unit I have:
YardContro Electronic Yard Fence
I *wish* there was something that would vaporize the neighborhood cats, but no one's come out with something like that yet. The only drawback is that you will have to keep feeding this device D-cell batteries, unless you contact...
I've had good luck with the ultrasonic cat repellers keeping cats off my car parked on the carport. Why mess with a cover? Putting a cover on and taking it off frequently is going to be a pain in the butt, plus unless you dust the car before covering it, you're going to scratch it.
We managed to get 11 or 12 Vipers out for the event. This is absolutely great for the Richmond area. Unfortunately, we lost the VCA vs Corvette Club Horsepower Challenge by half a Viper. However, everyone had a great time and made new friends, and Children's Hospital benefited from the...
You're very welcome, Terry! It was gratifying to see an 11-Viper turnout for this event in Richmond. Although we lost the Viper-Vette horsepower challenge by half a Viper, the show lured out several members to their first VCA event! And the Children's Miracle Network is a few hundred dollars...
Unfortunately, the auxiliary input is on the rear of the unit. I don't know much about the iPod, but there have been several threads on this forum about connecting one. Sorry I couldn't help on that.
It is not difficult to add satellite radio to any SRT-10, coupe or convertible. The radio has an auxiliary input into which the satellite radio receiver connects. I replaced my head unit with a standard Chrysler RB1 navigation unit and added XM radio. However, before I did that, we added the...
I've been there before. I don't think it's bigger than the cruise-in at the Burger King in Manassas, though. Glad to see you're up and around after your injury!
IMHO the H-pattern is too busy. Also, these wheels don't seem to be as highly polished as the stock ones or (my favorite) the Sidewinder wheels (Copperhead). But at least buyers of '06 models are supposed to have a choice.
I have 3M Clearbra on the side sills; no problems so far, 5000 miles later. However, my car is yellow, so any yellowing would be difficult to spot. The Mopar door sill inserts (or whatever they call them) are pretty nice.
Got to agree with 29Outlaw -- oil change is not brain surgery, especially on a Gen III. However, you do want someone who's done this before. If some junior mechanic misplaces a lift arm, he could bend a side sill or worse. I also suggest you go down to a local auto parts store and get 11...
I think someone else mentioned this, but I'd like to see a comparision test where the manufacturer provided a car AND a driver who was familiar with the car. Of course, the testing outfit should also do a dyno test and some inspection to try to catch any "ringer" cars.
