    Interesting that Motor Trend (on newsstands now) got 11.5@ 127mph, 0-60 3.7 out of the Z06. 12.3@116mph is what the C5 Z06 with over 100hp LESS ran. Car and Driver ran a 11.7@125mph. 12.3 doesn't add up....

    McLaren F1 and Corvette should not be mentioned in the same sentence! LOL Gearing and "area under the curve" comes into play. Look at how many 900hp Supras run 11's at the track or how many MUCH more powerful Viper lost to the LPE Vette at the shootouts.

    New Z06 spotted today, anybody raced one yet?

    65K base (comes w/ power everything) LOADED rings up $70K (options include heated seats, 12 disc changer, navagation, memory package) Dealers are selling Z06 for MSRP locally and on the Vette forum. Some dealers WILL mark them up as well as the new SRT Coupe.

    Car was tested on stock OEM tires, not drag radials and not slicks. The C6 Z06 (like the C5 Z06) runs F1 tires and are NOT runflats.

    Persoanlly the V10 is nothing short of impressive, no debating that at all. But to say "it will ALWAYS be better than any V8" is crazy. If the Viper and the V10 go out of production other makes will still thrive such as the Vette, Mustang, etc. Cars and engines evolve, technology advances...

    The bottom line

    Sorry, but you can't compare driving a 405hp C5 Z06 (6,000/yr) to a 505 C6 Z06 (2,000-3,000/yr). That's like comparing a 1992 Gen I to a '05 SRT-10, while both great cars, vastly different in every way.
