excellent info! thanks guys. I'll pull the sub and see if it's disconnected there. I'm close to 35-40 miles from my dealer so anytime it goes in, it's an all day affair which includes messing with the bosses schedule (wife/satan). So anytime I can attempt a quick fix or anything not very time...
Hey guys, two days ago I noticed that neither the center sub nor the speaker above it were operating. Using the fade and balance I have verified correct operation of the rear tweeters (under the roll hoops) and the front speakers.
At first I assumed that all of the speakers (except the sub)...
Re: how fast have you gotten your srt10\'s up to?
160 in 4th, top down, leaving Phoenix on I-10 going towards Tucson the day after Fat Alberts installed my Belangers. Not sure what the rpm was but I know I was very close to the limit if not at it. Sunburned, grinning ear-to-ear and afraid to...
I threw some Pioneer 1680R's into my doors. They're 4-ways and the sound quality improved drastically. I can go MAX volume without distortion, unless I am listening to a song with heavy, low bass. The sub is the only componenet now that gives me distortion but I don't have any immediate plans...
The truck will have an advantage at take-off because of the gearing but just an advantage. The C5 will kill it regardless. Guaranteed. It might look closer since you're only running 8ths, but seriously, if you run quarters you'll get walked.
Re: Corvette Brethern
The problem with Corvettes is that you have to slow down to see if it's a C6 or third gen Z06 :D
Seriously, a 500hp Vette will be fast, stylish and a serious force to be reckoned with but it will still be one of 30-thousand cars with the same body type. Hell, my 2000...
There's no knock sensors on the 03's. I would've figured the dyno numbers to be higher, especially with the Borla's. With just the K&N system my '03 put down 449.4hp/489.0tq to the wheels. I'd take a close look at the fuel trim as our engines find peak-tq at ~ 4k rpms, which also happens...
I'd rather (if it had to have a Mercedes motor at all) it be the 6-liter V-12 bi-turbo from the SL65. 604hp@5500rpm and (our favorite thing) 738tq@2000rpm.
edit: I have no idea why these numbers came up as email addy's...
I have a silver '03 with no yellowing (to tell you the truth I didn't know you were even talking about the paint until I read the other responses, I haven't heard of any paint problems myself). I also agree with RonnieSRT10 re: getting headers and high-flows. I live in the desert and it helped...
I do not have a DRB III. I used an OBDII reader that I just bought from Roe Racing (which I'll have to say made it to my door 36 hours after I ordered it :2tu: ). It's just a generic reader good on all or most newer cars.
The thing that strikes me as weird is that apparently whatever is...
beautiful calipers! by any chance would you have any pics of the exact locations that you placed your jackstands (I'm afraid of putting them in the wrong spots)? I plan on sending VenomBlue my calipers and rotors this winter. He did my hoodpad and it's awesome.
Top-down, I hit 160 just after shifting into 5th and my half-empty venti starbucks cup was violently removed from the change-holder otherwise referred to as a cup holder. For about a half-second, I had thought that maybe a bird or something else flew into the car. Weird thing was, is that it...
exactly. recently on a cold morning I had a "LO TIRE" warning on my dash. All four were sitting at ~ 23-25lbs. cold. I think spec calls for either 28 or 32lbs. (can't remember now because I then checked all of my other cars...)
Gents,
I pulled a p0138 and p0158 which are "02 sensor high voltage banks 1 sensor 2 & bank 2 sensor 2" (respectively). So both of my sensor two's are reading high voltage. This has only occurred since having my Belanger headers installed. I recently took my car to the dealership and...
EDIT: sorry guys, just read the 2nd page where the Z's specs were already listed. Removed.
also, the new body style mustang has a completely new chassis that is lower, longer (in wheelbase) and wider. much like what you'd find on a bmw. Granted, the mustang isn't a direct sales competitor...
Looks cool! I look forward to seeing how you wired everything. I've been thinking about switching to the V1 but I'm used to not having a wire and your solution would work great. I've got a cordless passport now and I'm used to not having any wires hanging down but I'm not overly impressed...
Plug and play for the most part. I didn't get the applicable harnesses (they didn't have any), so I soldered my wires. Only took a couple of minutes on each door, maybe 10 minutes or so on each considering stock removal and finding a decent position for supporting the new speaker for soldering.
I did on my C5 and it worked great. There's got to be an input voltage and an output voltage. That's the purpose of O2 simulators. 12 volts in, 700mv out if good? Do you happen to know the amperage at which they operate? Via the input voltage I can get the output voltage to be in the good...
I threw some pioneer tsa-1680r's into the doors and it made a world of difference. They're rated at 220W max, I think 65W rms. I can now go full volume without distortion. I think I paid in the neighborhood of $120 for the pair. Took about 30 minutes total to install.
Re: Z06 spied and already talks of
450lbs...great googily moogily! do you have to put the top down to get in and out? My dad's a big guy (especially around the middle) and I literally had to put the top down so he could get in and out, he couldn't even think about getting behind the wheel...
I had my Belangers installed about a month ago and have now gone through a second o2 sensor (passenger side). First one failed at 700 miles after install, no rich or lean codes, just failed to work at all. The dealer replaced the sensor under warranty the first time but I don't want to take it...
I have the Belanger header system with high-flow cats and magnaflows, crossover delete. It's loud. Really loud. "Setting off car alarms" loud. Seriously, I've done it four times now.
