    What would you do?

    I love that Ford GT!! I also love my 97GTS. The Z06 is everywhere. Try to figure out how to have the GTS and the GT, that is what I am trying to do. :2tu:

    Tires....

    I think you have to ask yourself what kind of driving are you going to be doing. If you are just "cruzin" with a squirt now and then, use what you have till the tread wears out. On the otherhand, if you are a very aggressive driver and do autocross or tracking,then you definately want sticky...

    Very CHEAP insurance, as motor are quite expensive these days. You did the correct thing!! :2tu:

    Which side sill screws to use?

    The later Viper side sill screws are a white/grey color because the are coated with something to stop the chemical reaction(steel vs alum.). Anyway this is what I was told and when I converted my 97GTS to side exhaust, my side sill screws are the later type. I don't think that they would be very...

    Factory Smooth Tubes

    I bought the smooth tubes from DC Permformance because they were curved to match up properly. There is a definate drop off from the air box to the trottle body on my 97 GTS.

    Tires too old?

    Man, if you are only driving 500 miles a year, and no track events, why are you buying new tires? If you are doing "aggressive" 500 miles of driving, I understand, but if you are just cruzin with and occasional squirt, use the tires you got. My .02 :p

    Viper tag prices

    My 97 GTS has always been in Az., but not always owned by me. I bought it 2 years ago this April(one of the smartest things I ever did). My last tags (Nov 05) cost me a total of $287.11. Not great, but better than some states. The state gets the money one way or the other. Gotta Love It!! :curse:

    I too read that blerb in the viper magazine and was wondering about the mopar synthetic vs other lubes like Mobil 1. Is Tom anywhere about? He always gives us the good "poop". :2tu:

    Check those Power steering caps!! (How do I fix?)

    I read this thread plus others in the past, but today I got up and went out and checked my cap. It was half way unscrewed, and I don't do track racing!!! I fixed mine with a piece of very tight fitting surgical tubing and a wire tie. I feel much better now. Does anyone else with an Alpine...

    Re: Tint shop won\'t tint my Viper! Without tint, my a/c would never keep up in so. Az. The tint does show a mark due to the design of the doors, but as stated above it is not bad and well worth it. If it's not illegial in your stste, go for it.
