I will shed some FUTURE light on this, having both the convertible and coupe, but I have never driven the GTS. Currently, my coupe is still under cover in the garage due to rain (in Arizona? go figure...), and I want to drive it as little as possible until the stripes cure and I can put the 3M...
I'm in Gilbert.
Thanks for all the congrats. Pretty cool to be in a "League of four" - soon to be 200 though.
And yes, the pictures don't do it justice is true. I'm not sure I can add any pictures more descriptive than have already been posted of the FE Coupe. Just took the phots today as I...
My Cabin heat on the '03 virtually disappeared when I had Belanger's do headers, high flow cats, and eliminate the crossover pipes with their exhaust. I think the biggest plus was removing the catalytic converter that sits in the footwell though. Plus I gained about 50 hp on the dyno. I have...
Got the First Edition Coupe today. Meticulously delivered in 30 hours to AZ. The Woodhouse team has been outstanding! Such a dramatic improvement from the local AZ dealer that I got my 2003 from.
The car happend to arrive the same afternoon that I was having a wedding reception in my...
It's been 115 this past week. My Snake still cools down, traffic or not. In fact, I have been impressed with it's ability to cool off considering the engine heat. My gauge reads 240 as well. Maybe my heat switch is different...
My rear wheel horsepower increased from 437 stock to 475 with the Belanger headers and 2.5" exhaust. My peak torque dropped from 466 stock to 455 modded.
If my expected drivetrain losses are accurate, then I now have 558 flywheel hp.
The best thing about the Belanger system is the cockpit...
Belanger has several different systems. I did the Belanger headers, a single hi-flow cat on either side, and side pipe mufflers eliminating the crossover. The heat is gone from the footwell, I got 44 hp increase by dyno measurement, and the car sounds awesome!!!!! On top of that I did do...
I bought a wind baffle, and I don't use it. It does work - less wind buffeting your head, etc. But I found the reflections - both day and night - quite annoying. It also snagged the latch to the top whenever the top was raised or lowered. When approaching the car while parked and top down...
I did headers, hi flow cat, and exhaust from Belangers. I ove it. The quality is absolutely amazing. I dyno'd before I ad it done, and I ill dyno again this month and post again on the gains. The HEAT is gone from the footwell though!!
My sticker indicates my car is "bright silver metallic". Does this mean I ave one of only 5 of these? I hought all the silvers were the same until I read this. I have not come across another silver in person to check to see a difference. What do other owners of silver srt-10s have listed as...
Had my first case of flickering headlights last night - at 1300 miles. Although my low beams shut off, the fog lamps worked. When I switched to high beams the lights came on again - then off again, etc. You guys are all correct - very dangerous, not to mention annoying.
I guess I can wait...
Thanks for the info. Anyone local in Phoenix pass tech? I agree with the safety issues, but I really just want to run like 2 passes. Not sure if I want to spend money on a roll bar and harness for that...
I have heard lots of talk about the SRT not being track legal without a hardtop or roll bar. I am wanting to try out the drag strip, and I'm wondering what everyone's experience has been thus far. Have SRT's passed tech in stock form?? I'd like to hear about other's experiences. Thanks! And...
A brief update thus far:
I did Belanger headers with a pair of high flow cats, straight side pipes and single mufflers. The heat is 75% improved! Much more livable cabin! Right now that car has resonance at 3000 rpm, which is too loud for me. They can add a second baffled chamber muffler to...
The heat is compounded by several things - the 2nd set of cats is right at the driver's footwell. The mufflers retain heat as well and are in the side sills. The crossover pipes are underneath the passenger seating. Plus, all the pipes are stainless steel, which holds more heat.
Maybe the...
Just dyno'd my bone stock SRT-10 today. I got a corrected 437 rwhp and 466 rw torque.
If you do the math figuring DC was right on with rating it as 500 HP at the crank, then my 437 rwhp equates to a 12.6% drivetrain power loss, and 11.2% using torque figures. If you assume the standard 15%...
