I did the same thing with my new ACR. I picked it up in Blair, then drove 700 miles to Texas so it would be broken in for the race track Memorial Day Weekend. I just replaced my front Sport Cups at 3700 miles. They would still be good but the right front was totally gone on the edge from the...
I'm with you, the ACR beat all of them. I read the article and the way Car and Driver came out with their placings was due to a weighted scale that was quite complicated and meaningless. If you want to be fast on the track buy an ACR, end of story.
Amen to the heat soak on the new ZR-1, twice around the track and you will leave him flat. I had a Z06, a spec miata, and a BMW M6 all three have to give it up due to hot engines. The ACR stayed in front, cool as a cucumber!
I have 3600 miles on the ACR with the complete Belanger system. The pop has increased but only in certain instances. It's almost like I can make it do it when I want to or not do it when I don't. It's getting lots faster though, the more fast track time it has the faster it gets!
Why don't I live in Austin, you have all the fun! However, we are having an MSR track day over the 4th weekend, maybe Viper Fergy will post some FAASSSTT pics for us. I finally ran a 1:24 on the 1.7 mile track in the new ACR without slicks. So there is still room for improvement especially in...
Those Porsches are definitely whining when they see an ACR show up at the track. I took my new 08 to the PCA club races at Eagles Canyon Memorial Day Weekend. It was too much fun! The only car faster than an ACR is another ACR with a better driver!
Lee, don't be afraid of that front track splitter. I had to put mine on right away because I was going straight to Eagles Canyon Raceway. I've just left it on and probably won't take it off at all. It has plenty of clearance for anything except climbing mountains! I've put 3000 miles on the...
Awesome Lee! I wish I was talented enough to post some of the pics from Viper Days and the PCA club races of the "twin". I have some really great ones. I'll find someone to do it for me not that I'm not going to race anymore for a couple of weeks.
Bill and Mark have some new photos of the "twins". Both of the red and black ACRs side by side yesterday. Post them Bill! If anyone needs a new Snake, buy from Bill. He and Mark are super!!! They really know their stuff, they don't sell you anything you don't need, and they deliver what...
You don't want a bra, it will rub off more paint than it saves. Get the 3M coating applied then it can be peeled off later and the paint underneath is like brand new. You can also have someone talented put graphics on your can that can be removed painlessly later since the 3M material comes in...
Thanks to all for you great comments on the ACR. I have to come here every night and visit my car vicariously since I'm in Texas and he's still living in Nebraska at Woodhouse. I may sleep in the car for days when I finally get it!
I can't decide about the wheels just from a photo of the car but I'm still leaning toward a thin red stripe around the edge. So far it seems to be split between love the all black or not. We have a Cayman S that has 911 wheels. They were all black so we had them put a red stipe around the...
That's why I want my ACR ready for Memorial Day Weekend with the PCA at Eagles Canyon in Texas. That track is made for a Viper and those Porsche guys love to talk. I almost toasted a GT3 RS last Nov in my 04 convertible. I'm definitely going to do my part to promote the ACR! Let the games...
I have some ideas about what I'm going to do to those wheels. I hate them too but a few red touches in the right places will do wonders! Lee I hope your car gets off loaded pretty soon too. It's soooooo exciting to finally realize it's not going to be too long before I can drive it home!
Thanks Bill and Mark! He's almost as sexy as Brad Pitt!!! Now if I can just get the darn thing to Texas in time to toast some PCA Porsches Memorial Day Weekend........
That was a great time Ryan, good job! My favorites from the weekend were the 2nd day driving in the Hill Country, and the Oasis Restaurant, both were just fantastic! Not everyone saw the lady that was so blown away by all the Vipers that she rear ended a PU that had stopped to turn left in...
