First…renew your VCA membership or sign up if you haven’t…because this event was only possible through the VCA memberships of the local regions…which paid for themselves in just one day of this one event.

A couple of weeks ago the 2008 Viper Round Up was held here in Central Texas. I started this event in 2007 in order to build a better community in the Texas and outlying areas. I thought it would be nice to be able to go to another Texas city, email some folks and meet for coffee, dinner or anything else. I believe this Round Up helped in providing that bond between the cities and the community. Over time I hope this instills a sense of community in outlying states with Texas.

I wanted to thank everyone who attended and made this event possible. If no one attends, then the event dies…this years event was 2-3 times larger than last year…next year will be even bigger!

Fun was had by all and you can view the short video and the uploaded pictures by visiting the links below.

Enjoy and let the stories begin! Maybe talk about the wonderful road with 180 degree sloping turns… ;)

Grayson and Phil. Glad you guys had a good time. Have to tell you, that was the most fun I have had yet. As I am sure folks in other regions will agree...seeing and meeting Viper folks from far around is quite the experience!

Great pix and vid, thanks for sharing. That's got to be one of the largest gatherings in the country.

Whats up with the Ferrari? There's an informal rule in GA that if your Viper is unavailable by cruise time you can always run what you brung...you just need to be near the back of the pack.....even Ferraris, Lambos and Ford GTs. (Its not rigorously enforced or anything, but an encouragement to bring the snakes!)

LOVED the music that you put with the video, gave a spot-on feeling to the entire clip especially with the day 2 part.

LOTS of work goes into organizing an event like that. That has the potential to become a Mini-VOI in the future. Bravo. Kurt E

I hope so, for us southern folks (and poor folks ;) ) this is an event that still builds the community without tearing down the bank account...sure whish I could go to VOI though!

The guy in the 360 used to have an SRT vert and is contemplating an '08 purchase. He's thinking about blowing the '08/Gallardo budget on a Murci, though...what a problem to have!

Yeah, I'll resound Phil and Grayson's sentiments...GREAT event, Ryan! Thanks for putting it on! Next year, however, I don't plan on being the weakest Viper on the dyno...dammit...

The track and dyno were my favorites, but I think the toll road shenanigans involving a certain officer of the local VCA may be a close third...speaking of third, they should have started the pull in a lower gear;). Thanks again!

That was a great time Ryan, good job! My favorites from the weekend were the 2nd day driving in the Hill Country, and the Oasis Restaurant, both were just fantastic! Not everyone saw the lady that was so blown away by all the Vipers that she rear ended a PU that had stopped to turn left in front of her. No one was hurt but it was one of those did that just happen moments?

Care to elaborate :D?

Ah, just a 60-150 pull*...but I started in 3rd instead of 4th, so I had the jump on Mr. 3.55 Gears!

It's funny; I looked over at him and threw my hat in the floorboard and he did the same. I think that's the Gen. I way of "throwing down the gauntlet." Honks were worthless, so I signaled "1...2...3!" with my hands and we were off to the races.

You may get a second opinion, but I think we were pretty close when we let off.

Yes, on this private road this individual definately wasn't shifting as he should have. Keeping it till 5000-5500 rpm and started in 4th vs 3rd...but, this person is still learning with these new gears ;)

There was a small rumor of a small animal sacricing itself to the Viper gods earlier on Saturday...
