Ok, My buyout which included my last four payments would be $56,952 (less sales tax & document fees).
The Insurance company called this morning and said they would payout $58,775 directly to DC. They don't have to pay sales tax etc due to it being a salvage.
I will pocket $1875 plus my...
I have to add that the dealer (in seven days) has only called me once... The day it was wrecked.
In fact, the day it happened I had to work (go figure) and was lucky to even be heading over at 6pm.
The Manager and service writer were planning on leaving at 6pm (at the end of their shift) and...
Well the Dealer's Insurance Company called today and officially listed it as a total loss.
But the; Trapped in the 80's valley girl, insurance rep for the dealer that called, said (and I am serious in quoting) "Like... Yah know... yur car is totallllled".
I was like... "yah i knoooooow, I...
Heheh.
Yeah, my business is pretty hectic and forced me to confront at least 10 emotions in about an hour. Fortunately for the moron driving, acceptance is one of the last ones...
Thanks,
I agree that once a final release is presented to me I will need to have an attorney look at it. I just have reservations about going for the throat right out of the gate. Their actions will definately determine if a lawyer needs to be brought in early on.
Unfortunately, I can't do a...
Wow. Thanks for the advice so far. It's a pretty lame situation...
Yet, while I'm still scratching my head in disbelief I called DMC, spoke with my insurance agent and today I sat down with the owner of the dealership.
I will bring in some heavy lawyers if needed and I appreciate that advice...
Well I'm not sure how this is going to go.
The car is in their back lot with a foot of snow falling on it, as I am writing this. Which means the accident scene is being covered and plowed tonight, as well... This dealer is known for being ethically questionable (at best). I never signed the...
Worse yet... The guy was 6 miles into a test drive and he was stil heading away from the dealer when it wrecked... Was he running an errand??? Who ever heard of a 12 mile test drive? :curse:
He told the police that he was going between 45 and 50 mph and mis-shifted from 5th into 3rd (instead of 6th)... Thus spinning the car out and over the embankment.
This what I heard from the cops. So not sure if it's true or not.
Yeah, I'm a little overwhelmed. If there is a dealer or DMC employee here that knows what should happen and is willing to share it with me, I'd really appreciate it.
I have pics but no way to post them.
Thanks,
I took my Viper in to have an oil change and replace the battery. I got a call a few hours later... The Tech took it for a test drive and rolled it three times (he's fine thankfully) but it totalled my car. They shouldn't have test drove it (in my eyes).
Here's the big question. It was a lease...
Re: Decide for me...Which do I keep? \'93, \'04 or both
It's not really so much a performance thing as much as I love all cars and have a hard time letting go. :(
The '93 RT/10 has 14,000.
The '86 328GTS has 29,000 miles
The '04 SRT/10 has 11,000 miles
Re: Decide for me...Which do I keep? \'93, \'04 or both
Thanks so far for the responses... Sorry this will be long...
I thought about the garage lift, but mine are only 9 foot. If it would work, I'd consider it, but I'm afraid that would get old.
I can buy my '04 out of lease for $51k in...
Re: Decide for me...Which do I keep? \'93, \'04 or both
It's a Jeep; The new unlimited Rubicon 4 door. Actually It's a blast, reminds me of the CJ7 in the '80's. I'm putting a plow on it to do the drive, some 35's to go off roading.
Crap, I actually found myself grabbing it on a sunny day...
Decide for me...Which do I keep? \'93, \'04 or both
OK this seems petty, but; I leased my '04 through my business and really thought I would get tired of it after three years, as I do with most of my cars.
In April '07 when the lease is up, I planned on turning in the '04 no questions asked...
Re: Where did the \"08 Viper debut at NAIAS\" go?
Agreed... Actually if it weren't for the '92 Viper, the Corvette would have been shelved. There are alot of Vette owners and lovers, far more than Viper... They will build the Stingray (Z07) and DC will build a better Viper.
You are right...
In 92 the first batch of 250 (hand made cars) had antenna's on the driverside rear quarter panel, battery located in the trunk etc... In '93 there were about 400 carry over cars that were built the same way (with some minor differences). Early or mid '93 the antenna was moved to the windshield...
