Paid $86k ($108 sticker) about 8 months ago for 2013 with track package. Not interested in selling anytime soon nor trading up. Convince Me to Get Viper Over R8, Gallardo, 12C
You should make the same post on Lambo, R8, and MacClaren sites or maybe you have. How is the Viper on driveways or entrances with an incline?
Renting a condo while building. Not sure what the lip is, must be a standard thing. I most often scrape backing out and pulling in (both at an angle). Had the Gen 5 on a lift for oil change and it's the plastic guards that are making contact with the cement, not the car's body. My gen 3 scraped...- pathoguy

I don't read car magazines. Don't trust them to be unbiased or accurate. I daily the Gen 5 except when the forecast is thunderstorms and heavy downpours like today. I too drive it like a regular car. Agreed. It's a car that evokes deep emotions. In my SUV today because of stormy forecast and really miss the thing even though I drove it to work yesterday. Just cannot get enough of it. ...Eight months of ownership and I still walk around it after parking, not to inspect...to admire.- pathoguy

Most of the criticism is towards the marketing/sales and not the car. That is certainly the case for me. Too bad they couldn't just wait a short while longer and release the next version with the forced induction (if it happens?) and include the TA 2.0 tweaks. Marketing disaster.....but then if the same folk are in charge why not Don't want a new Gen (6) to further devalue the 5. Improve the 5 with modest boost and offer retro kits for 2013-2014s, to elevate all the 5s to same level if desired.- pathoguy

Don't want a 2015. Why add even one more relatively unchanged Gen 5 to an already bloated inventory? Get it right with a lightly boosted 2016 (and retro kit) or let it go.- pathoguy

I was thinking about purchasing a Viper again
It's hard to justify spending that kind of money anyway, on any strict 2 seater, with such limited utility. To me it is not about which car makes more sense, because logic is rarely present with such a purchase. It's pure emotion for me. I don't feel it with the C7Z and drowning in it with...- pathoguy

Not that folk are going to buy the charger/challenger instead of the viper, but it hurts the viper's halo status which could move buyers away from the viper toward an alternative sports car. The viper must have more hp than its cousins....it's a perception thing.......... bragging...- pathoguy

TA selling well, soon to be selling out...and it's no surprise why
Coming from a Gen 3 coupe to an srt Gen 5, I find the exhaust tone much better. The overall daily driving experience is so much improved, that I have not focused on the sound. Don't notice any tire noise. Mine has the track pack....not sure that makes any difference? It's still a bumpy ride like...- pathoguy

Starting at the above and correct price point and significant price-reduction to reach the same number will usually produce very different sales results. Many are waiting to see if the downward pricing continues and also heavy discounting does not help the car's image.- pathoguy
