New Mopar Oil Change business
2009 Challenger SRT8 6spd came with Mobil1, states it right on the cap. Recommended in the manual. --FQB- fqberful

I guess i shouldn't be surprised......
The plus side of the K&N is that you have filters that will last the life of the car. They do flow better and can be easily cleaned and re-oiled. As previously stated, you may need some custom tuning to bring out the most in your mods. --FQB- fqberful

Survey - TVS blower for SRT-10 Vipers
Going the gears route is a lot of bang for the $$$. I went with 3.55's and never looked back. Put a Quaife in at the same time, huge difference. I never liked FI much, you can make some really big HP and TQ numbers NA. A nice set of Greg Good or Stryker heads and a cam, good exhaust, etc...- fqberful

Aluminum vs Chromolly flywheel
You can replace the friction surface of a Fidanza for about $53, it's rebuildable, don't have to remove the flywheel from the car either. So as long as it's not egg shaped you're in good shape. It IS SFI rated so chances of a failure on the street are minimal. And don't think that just...- fqberful

Vec 3 Vs SCT
A VEC is a bandaid that sits between the car and the PCM. The SCT reprograms the PCM. Regardless of what you do with the VEC, the PCM will always win and the VEC still has to run within the limits of the PCM. Why on earth would you cut up the wiring and add more points of failure when...- fqberful

Speed sensor error code
On the GenIII the speed sensors are via the ABS system. Assuming the ABS box is okay and there's a good data link between the PCM and the ABS [ check for bad grounds here or burned wiring ], first place to look is the pickups and wiring at the wheels. Possibly a damaged pickup or damaged...- fqberful

Gen III vs. Gen IV Tuning Questions
More simply put the GenIII [ 2006 included ] has a JTEC PCM which has been hacked so the 3rd party guys can do custom tuning. The GenIV PCM is a NGC and hasn't been hacked for the Viper [ they have though for the 6.1 Challenger as an example ] and until such time as there's custom tuning...- fqberful

Wanting to upgrade gears....
Speaking from experience here. You state your car is a street car, where on the street will you ever exceed 150mph ? So who cares about top speed ? And I have news for you, your calculations are off, you can go one hell of a lot faster than 165mph with 3.55's. I found that 3.55's make 6th...- fqberful

installing headers , should i use the heat shields
My opinion always has been, install the heat shields even if the headers are coated. I can do nothing but help keep from melting stuff. --FQB- fqberful

rocker adjustment?
If that thing has 0w40 in it then it will make ticking noises. For summer use you can use 15w50 and it will not make noise. The stock rockers are not adjustable. --FQB- fqberful

Plugs and wires
I suspect their seemingly outrageous price is because of the labor to remove the intake and of course the absolutely stupid prices they charge for parts. Get a set of AB's wires and a set of Bosch 4508 plugs [plugs assuming you're not FI] and you're good to go for almost ever. You can reuse the...- fqberful

Starter?
Just for giggles why not take a set of jumpers and another good, fully charged battery and give it a boost. That may provide some insight into the problem. I've seen marginal batteries do exactly what you describe. --FQB- fqberful

Insurance madness
Since both of you are covered by the same company [ State Farm ] I suspect that once you lawyer up their tune will change. It's a sad sad state of affairs when you have to sue the %%^&* insurance company to get the coverage you paid for but that's what it seems to have come to these days. --FQB- fqberful

Insurance madness
In Florida if the person is uninsured / under-insured you will have to sue to get your money. There's a plus here though, you can get a judgement and the court will allow you to have the persons license revoked [simple process the court gives you a paper to take to the nice ladies at the DMV]...- fqberful

Chrysler states I do not own my car!!
Perhaps, but they are still part of Chrysler Corp as in financing for. And just like they are for their dealers, Chrysler is 100% responsible for the finance co's actions when it's called Chrysler Credit. They are failing on multiple fronts. O2 sensor error codes
Even dumber, with a JTEC PCM the front O2 sensors are a completely different type of sensor than the post cat ones. They look the same but operate completely differently. Luckily it didn't do any other electronic damage like to the PCM. --FQB- fqberful

Oil change query
15w50 Mobil1 or Amsoil 20w50 ... both have higher ZDDP levels. The 15w50 Mobil1 can be had in 5qt jugs at Wally World on sale for about $24.. I also use the Amsoil full synthetic oil filters which produce better oil pressure and have proven to filter very well. I've been told by a couple...- fqberful

3:73 gears are you happy with them.
I love my 3.55's. I also did a Quaife at the same time and that makes a huge difference in handling. 3.73's I imagine would be fine too. It all depends on what you are after. I did 3.55's so 6th gear would be usable at a reasonable speed. Driving in town isn't any different than with the...- fqberful

Anyone have this issue? Rough Idle when hot sometimes, almost dies
According to the 2006 FSM plugs at 21000 miles, wires at 60000 miles. Any non-platinum or iridium plugs will never go 100k miles, not ever. That would be a real stretch for iridiums. If you're using the stock factory plugs then count on changing them at 5k - 10k miles. If platinum or...- fqberful
